Some one just tell me this hurricane will dump snow somewhere in New England so I can have something to look forward to. Sonofabitch this awkward limbo between fall and winter is starting to get to me.

Read one scenario where PA and VA end up with a few feet of snow. Not NE, but close enough for some to drive on this thread.

LH just posted his latest forecast.

In anticipation, a non-exhaustive list of resorts in the general PA/MD/WV area.

Here's one from 14" of storm at Mt. Snow last October.

Unfortunately it was the deepest day of the year (including a trip to Utah).

Steve Earle is playing at Jay Peak on 11/30. Wish I could make it.

Thanks for posting that. Any betas from local maggots?

30% that I'll make it down that way early next week. The planning has started with warning my boss that I might not be in for a few days.

Still in VT, not sure when I'm heading back. Depending on storm track, we may stay and ride it out up here. No point going back Sunday if I have to come back up due to any storm issues.

Here is all I know. Kinda pricey but how many folks do you really think will be there? I expect it's going to be quite intimate.

Just going to drop in really quickly to give you drop a recommendation: if you are driving to the Mid-Atlantic for the storm, you need to find yourself in the Canaan Valley area, Timberline for lift served, Whitegrass Touring Center for XC/BC.

To give you some idea of the area:

If I still lived nearby I would offer to play tour guide, but I'm no longer on the EC. I think there are some mags still in and around northern VA/WV...

i'm in SW PA.. leaves are off the trees and ready for snow. it's going to have to be deeper than the 14" last year if it's even close to worth the drive here. with the ground so warm, the snow was sticky muck by 10am.

    stoked!

Looking at October turns. I skipped out on Kmart due to a roof and my daughter's bday (oh yeah, you needed a pass day). Less just say the timing was terrible on the work and home fronts.

It would sucked after to miss out October after getting September, August, July, etc etc all the way to October 2005. Drive for 85.

Thanks SEM. Might tag up with someone else once I'm in NY. Logistics need to be worked out. There is also some snow 3 hours west of Ottawa. We'll see what the forecast says tomorrow.

well heres a suggestion for the drive for 85..

US route 219 goes right by or through 8 resorts from Holiday Valley NY to Snowshoe WV. ~400 miles of mountains. there's bound to be some turns some where along the way
