hadn't looked at weather in a while, but if it's better tuesday, i could do tuesday. i won't go over if weather isn't near perfect given the drive and limited snow.

watching wave forecast also. could ski tuesday till noonish with you then head home and surf all afternoon.

    perfect scenario.

^^^^^snow looks awesome!!! AND A BASE!!!

Just so everyone knows they will have to be earned turns if they let you on the mountain. According to the K blog lifts won't be spinning Mon.

"Saturday we will be open 10 AM to 5 PM. If weather and conditions permit, this exclusive event will continue for Sunday. Monday we will be closed and re-open to the public when weather and conditions permits."

Wouldn't want anyone driving there thinking they will be open.

The pass system isn't ready for the free express pass yet so my military id got me a $25 day ticket.

A lift wheel truck needed some tightening so it was down for about 30 minutes. To be expected.

november could be easy this year. like most decembers, we may be walking in and out like may/june, but the steeps are the prize anyways.

feels so good to be mounting skis again. always nice to put the bike work aside. keeps things fresh. 20 years of it and doesn't get old

k2 sidestash seems to be quite popular this year. 108 underfoot is a bit fat imo, but nice looking skis.

As we walked up to the gondi an ambassador announced that they had managed to fill in the last little bit so no walking to the lift. Sweet.
Goniff took the pic and posted but here's a little update. Not a jump turn, rather there was a lot of "terrain". Moguls and water bars provided some interest to the otherwise boring trail. Snow was surprisingly good and the crowds were non-existent. Our plan was to ski for an hour, download the gondi to parking lot and then hike back to the top for some exercise. On our last ride, the lift stopped for about 30 minutes so they gave us a voucher for $10 off a ticket later in the year...can use the Express Card discount and add the $10 discount. K seems to be back on the right track. Snow was surprisingly good; I think I said that before.

Buttah is correct. MFD Alltimes that allow me to use alpine bindings to tour. Heavy? Check. Burly as hell? Check. I don't tour much so these should work out ok for me.

I tried to take a pic of Goniff skiing but my dumb phone is still smarter than me.

We did follow our plan and hiked up Snowdon through Low Rider and then bushwacked across the ridge to hike up Great Northern, then up the Sky Walk and to the peak.

Agree. Gets a little silly past 100underfoot. Of course if you wanna be a bro at $'dough, 108 is the MINIMUM underfoot permitted. They even named the road to the mountain 108 so you won't forget.
