Drove from B-town to Montpeculiar mid-day for an afternoon of meetings, snowed on me the whole way down I-89. Left Montpeculiar, headed back to Midd. via Ap. Gap (the ONLY way to go), also snowed on me the whole way. Some light white above 3k along the ridgeline, but not any significant coverage in the MRV. But it's coming!!! Felt great to drive through snow squalls.

Is there anything good to do in Holmdel, nj? Not looking to go crazy but would at least like to see the outside of my residence inn room.

    SEASON PASS EVENT FAQ's

Exclusively for Killington Season Pass and Express Card holders, we will be running two lifts and one trail for Saturday October 13, 2012. If conditions permit, this event will extend into Sunday, October 14, 2012. Operating hours for Sunday will be determined by Saturday evening. Please use the FAQ'S below for additional information

What will the conditions be like?

We will have one trail open with early season conditions. The terrain will not be groomed and will be for advanced levels only. From the top of the K-1 Express Gondola, skiers and riders will use the Peak Walkway to walk down to Rime. Rime will be open with walking required from the bottom of the trail to the North Ridge Triple Chair. Once done for the day, skiers and riders will head back up the Peak Walkway to download on the K-1 Express Gondola.

Will my Midweek Season Pass be accepted at this Event?

Yes. Midweek Season Passes will be accepted this weekend only.

I haven’t bought my Killington Season Pass or Killington Express Card yet. Can I get one on site and use it right away?

Yes. You can purchase a Season Pass at the mid-rates which expired on October 11, 2012 or an Express Card at the current rate. Snowshed Sales Center will be open 9:30 AM to 3:00 PM and K-1 Guest Services and Ticket Windows will be open 9:30 AM to 5:30 PM.

How much will I be charged for using my Killington Express Card?

Express card rate for the day will be $25.

How long are you going to stay open?

Saturday we will be open 10 AM to 5 PM. If weather and conditions permit, this exclusive event will continue for Sunday. Monday we will be closed and re-open to the public when weather and conditions permits.

Some people are stoked about getting a card to ski tomorrow...I have to take satisfaction in making my first Ski Chatter blog post of the season.

    Comments on:
    - kudos to K
    - great passholders get their day.
    - somewhat disappointed that if they open Sunday, it will be another exclusive day.
    - great 1st step, but the mighty K needs to keep it up if they want to be back to the place they vacated 15 years ago.
    - also included list of opening/closing dates

As for myself, I have to work on my roof tomorrow. Sucks!!!

October turns at Killington are back…for its pass and card holders only!!!

This winter is going to be sick!! Got a few grass roots powsurfers headed to VT for demos this year, so hit me up if you want to ride one. I know of a few runs begging to be surfed in VT... check out the halfpipe at 6:00, looks familiar...

nice guys, It figures they do this the first year I didn't purchase some kind of Killington pass product in 7 years. MadPatSki, its a good thing they're doing passholders only, there's NO WAY they could support the paying public on one chair with one run and about a 4-5" base(on a weekend no less).

Oh well, I'm betting leftovers will be pretty good on Monday
For sure, you have to be lost to find a place that can't be found, elseways everyone would know where it was

Only retirees & active duty, according to the website. Unless they've worded things incorrectly, we mere "veterans" gotta put up $99 like the rest. I'll flash my old DD2, ust in case.

I was thinking the same thing, driving back from vinmans watching him craft my skis. It snowed, snained, and sleeted hard all day. Felt that angst for climbing and skiing.

Fishing is pretty much toast up here, lamoille at 4-500 cfs and 48 degrees river temps, Tribs in the low 40's. looking forward to winter, getting some trimming done today.

I can't remember exactly how many times I mentioned this, but we'll be trimming at Plattekill tomorrow at 9am. Sweet zone off the double. Taking the lift up and hiking down. Ticket and lunch reward. Bring tools, boots, gloves. Hope to see some maggots.

+ Nice tunes, AK, digging those horns.

    Won't be long now.

Woot! Woot! If these kind of temps and conditions persist I will be climbing ice before Halloween this year and schussing before Turkey Day? Winter, come early and stay long!

I had been planning on Monday, but wx fx looks a little bit wetter now, which has me thinking Tuesday instead.
I could be convinced in favor of Monday though if we'll have a little crew there.
I would have to be hiking down from the triple base by 12:30 at the latest -- otherwise I think Micayla gets auctioned off on eBay or something if I'm late picking her up...

Frost in NJ this AM, hoping for my first December skiing on MTW. Maybe even November?

While were on the topic of NJ, I've never had my stereotypes of a place confirmed so convincingly. 50 year old dudes talking about "going to Belmar" and asking when they can go to the club. Which club? The one by the Maccarron store!
