It's understandable what happened, I think. If boot fitters gave every person who came in a "proper" fit they'd get tons of JONGS coming back in complaining about the boots being uncomfortable and way too tight.

Anyway, sounds like a great shop that deserves your future business at least.

FTW also stands for First Thought Wrong. Sometimes it is good to pause before hasty action. But, it is good on you to nut up, own it, and resolve it like adults. Would have been good to keep $ there, but whatever. Life goes on, and their name is not dragging thru the mud unnecessarily anymore.

Bring a twelve pack next time you go to the loft. Tipping on credit cards in a ski shop is bad form.

If SportLoft was a restaurant, you'd get jizz in your binding screw holes instead of wood glue.

I assumed you started that last thread because you already went to them and asked for a refund.

You left out the part about not buying the size he recommended. That explains why you paid for the work. When I was boot fitting, we would guarantee the fit of the boot and all fitting work was included in the price, but only if they bought a footbed and the size we thought appropriate. I would bet Sport Loft does something similar.

Now lay off the callout threads for a while. You're potentially affecting someone's business.

Dude, you really need to pull your head out of your ass and start acting like an adult. This advice goes for everything in life.

I know. I went to to Downstairs at Eric's and ordered a fucking large thin crust and next thing I know I'm looking at a medium thick crust.

^^ Not a true story. That place actually has some great hot wings.

Had a couple of good slices at that place on Diagonal/Iris/28th, in the little plaza that has a Thai joint. Pretty damn close to NY style for the frange. I used to live a few blocks from there decades ago...

Indeed. Cash or beer or both.

Anyway glad we all learned a valuable lesson. Any problem can be resolved by coming and bitching on TGR. Duly noted.

That's pretty much what I expected; coming down to a lack of communication between you and the fitter.

Theres a reason i'm still in my 6 year old Lang Comps with Surefoot liners and over 500 days in them... buying new boots fucking sucks and can be quite daunting
Before I even read the rest (THIS) and if you are not well healed, dropping a significant amount of money on boots than then suck, hurt ect. Can really drive a skier into a panicked frenzy

I must be drunk too, cuz i got it.

He meant "well heeled" like rich. And was saying that dropping $1200 on something that turned out to suck would make a lot of people crazy and do something stupid, like an posting an internet call-out instead of going with a face-to-face call out.

I think the OP probably had at least some small merit in being pissed with the way it went down. I know if I was the bootfitter, I woulda thrown in an "I told you 26 would be a better fit" at least a few times when all the modifications were being done, if it was really recommended to begin with, which would eliminate the OP's claim to not remember it. But in the end they handled it very professionally.

But then he handled it like a jerkass, probably shoulda known better and is taking all responsibility to make it right. Good on ya.

    Praise be to GSA
Someone shoulda warned him that no matter how brutal winter or summer can be, a bad post on TGR can be almost impossible to weather once the shitstorm breaks loose.

    Or worse, the "Shitnado"!

    No, a shiticane.
