Oh no problem! The TECH TALK, JONG! insulation in those pants is great and will keep you comfortable in temps ranging from "oops- accidentally put this in the wrong forum" all the way up to "I just made multiple threads all with the same question in multiple forums".

GetAmped, glad you are on the mend now, too. Sounds like a bitch, though. Of course, come to the Fest if you can and I'll see you have a roof and real bed!

Yes, I agree with Buttah, long range forecasts with any degree of accuracy are maybe 3 days. (Forecast for me this week has already changed three times).

Good thing they are talking about 3 days from now

I agree generally. The best snow I have skied is the snow no one predicted.

Depends on what degree of accuracy require. Generally I think I can give about two weeks of "general pattern", 1 week of events within a 24 hr period, 3-4 days of "pay attention on sat/sun" type forecasting and 36-48 hours of "this is how much where"

it seems to me that in the mountains or by the ocean they can't predict shit. last night there was no rain forecasted and it hasn't stopped spitting all morning.

I'll take your word for it. Google wouldn't translate that into english for me. Was that scientific jargon for it might snow this weekend? LH, may I suggest two versions of your forecasts or at least a dumbed down synopsis? I do enjoy them but can't understand half of it. Hahaha.

For me, I can wait. Never liked too early. Great way to end the season before it starts but to each their own. Be careful but enjoy.

    SPITTING?!

fuck, i left newmarket on my bike in a drizzle that by the time i hit durham was a heavy drizzle, rain then picked up to a soaking heavy drizzle on rte 4 till i hit your place of business in newington and continued till i got to work in portsmouth.

drowned rat i was, but no wetter than when i surf

20% chance?! wtf does that mean?!

hopefully the ride home will be dryer tonight.

and lets not get all stoked on early snows. we all know what happens when that goes down.....a dry december and january.

I don't know what any of the maps actually mean. I just like the pretty colors. I typically skim through, trying to pick up on some of the jargon, and look for things like this

I appreciate all the variables involved with forecasting the weather, but these seasonal forecasts are never right. Good for getting stoked, though... That said, I'd say you do a great job for the most part. Seems you're onto stuff ahead of the curve and have often been right on. This week I rented a 66' lift for $1500 based on no rain...

Btw, what's the weather two weeks from this Saturday?

Thanks for all the good vibes. I really am stoked to get the DBs out in some deep snow since that didn't happen last season.

BD, much as I would love to come up for the fest, I'll have to pass this year. It's killing me to miss my favorite fall activities (camping, hiking, trail clearing), but I have to be realistic and focus on getting back to 100% by the end of the year.

Totally cool, GA... You're smart to not push it and focus on what's important. We'll have a beer for you and Road Trip (or three) and hope to meet up on the slopes this winter... in some Magic powdah!!!

Now that the tumor is gone, recuperation is still rough and I feel like you do, definitely in the worst shape ever. Damn! Between the two of us, we've got the full house of treatments. Chemo, radiation, surgery..... Glad to hear that your ride ended about the same time as mine did. And damn, are we going to have a helluva day when we have our "F Cancer" ski day (cough, cough.. season).

I can so relate to this one. I had one surgery in June with a 30 day can't-do-anything probation period and then, the big surgery in July had a 90 day probation period. There was 1 week in between when I said F it, got a place to stay at the beach and surfed for 5 days straight (thankfully, Ullr's surfing brother blessed me with nice longboardable pussy waves (I'm still learning...).

Take it slow and take care of getting back in shape. I'll be doing the same thing down here in Jersey.

Very much looking forward to meeting you @ Magic!
