Um yeah so I just saw hail AND snow in the Catskills FYI. So I guess 6.0 really is official!

Honestly no idea but it didn't feel really cold. It went from torrential downpour to intense hail and finally just enough of the white stuff to stick to things around Shandaken I think it was?? On 28 though so the bellayre/hunter area.

Lots of lightning and thunder though. That was definitely an intense front.

Heh, I thought he meant what temperature wax did I plan to use. I was thinking..hmm..probably just basic hertel all condition. I'm not so optimistic about the weather that I'm going for cold weather wax yet... ha

Team Multiglisse is looking forward to another great year of everyday skiing on little hills and epic drives to ski on bigger hills. Lets hope we don't have to work so hard this season to find this:

Yeah 6.0 will hopefully yield 6 times times the snow we had last year. Here's to an epic season EC'ers!

ECRC is definitely one of my favorite threads out there and I really want to play. I wish I had something a little more current or even some deep turns but this is all I have...

Oh, yeah! Super psyched for this season. Back from injuries, almost ready to go. Gotta start breaking out the waterproofing wash and hot wax, get my ducks in a row.
A couple of my fave shots from last year -

No Matter What was great last night - feels good to be in that crowd of fellow pow hounds, getting amped for ski season.
Laser - should we have some kind of list for deals, cheap tix, etc in this thread? I feel like there was something like that in seasons past..
    Looking forward to Ullrfest!

I predict that we will have a very nice upcoming ski season, although early and mid November will be lame as always.
Fortunately that will allow you plenty of time then for avalanche safety training and/or continuing education. (How's that for a thinly veiled segue? Hey, figured I should post something about it in the new thread for this season...)

More specifically, ESAW is November 10 (Saturday) in North Conway.
    What is ESAW?
    This is ESAW:
    http://www.esaw.org
If you have already taken a L1 avy course and are interested in avy continuing education, then you will like it. Guaranteed. (Figuratively though, not literally.)
If you have not already taken an avy course, I put together a summary of the various options here:
    http://avycourse.blogspot.com/2010/0...e-options.html

Okay, enough of that -- now when's it gonna snow?

Call me superstitious (or whatever else you'd like to call me) but I'm not prepping my skis or mounting snow tires until at least 11/1. If we're fortunate enough to get real snow - like enough where some ski areas actually start to open - I might readjust this formula
