I'll be at both shows tomorrow. I'm most interested in anyone who is skiing this year's skis. Also looking for backcountry partners. I'll be wearing a civil war cap (union blue) so come up and say hi.

EDIT: All of you skiing older skis are interesting to me too. Would love to know about why you're sticking with them and what resources you used when picking them or eventually to find new ones. I have been phrustrated a bit by the amount of hype out there and difficulty finding real info on the real use for the skis. I love that TGR has furreal riders reviewing all kinds of skis and want to find a way to contribute to this. Anyone wants to talk on Thursday (or any time), lemmeno.

    ^^^^^BRO's!!
All sorts of BRO's...Get 'em while they're hot!
(And you're tall enough to go long)

Do you much care if it's an "independant" or "corporate" ski maker?

ALSO. ON THE SUBJECT OF SUPERHEROES OF STOKE...
    Very nice movie.
But Very Disappointed in the SquAlpine "Comp".
It was a buy one get one free voucher! M-F with blackouts!
(Used to be a KW comp. A real hard copy Comp last year, and unrestricted the year b4).
    Boo!

Good times last night. Old ski bros, a couple beers and a ski film...sounds pretty good eh?

    Highlights for me:

    1) 180 into switch straightline exit in AK.
    2) Whistler jump - huge 180 in sunset
    3) Multi skiing over and through cracking spines
    4) High speed gapped spine in AK
    5) Line 5 for Hoji

It don't matter nun. Curious about all skis, but more about how anyone decided to get the ones they got. Ideally, we ride together and see the skis in action, put to the use for which they were bought.

Nuts. I went last year in SF and they had a big roll of Sugar Bowl vouchers (I think they might have been weekday only, but still, real tix). See if there's any schwag to make up for it.

I sorta answered your ski question by trading for your skis. I buy old skis someone decided they HAD TO HAVE, then want to get rid of because they HAVE TO HAVE the next big thing. For me, the last big thing is the next big thing. I have never spent more than $400 on a pair of skis in my life. Those were new in plastic.

Edit: When we meet, I'll be in Confederate grey...

After hearing Turx' field report, I'm going to just go to the late showing. Why buy two tix when the freebie is just a BOGO???

i got jumped in Hawaii a few weeks ago and now have to pay off some medical bills, so that means that i need to sell my Squaw-Alpine Silver season pass. I talked to squaw, and they basically told me i can get a coupon that is transferable to a 3rd party, so the transaction should be short and sweet.

I am looking to get $500 for it, which is $19 less than what its up for right now.

If you or anyone you know is looking for a discounted, albeit slightly, season pass, please point them in my direction. Thanks Maggots!

Sorry for spamming/mucking up a stoke thread.

Really? That's the best we can do? Come on! I just wanna spread some stoke! I just saw a pretty good flick and really want to ski. MSP at Squaw included zero voucher or even twofer coupon. It was a pretty good story with plenty enough cool ski footage to show what they were talking about. Good job tying the past to the present and predicting future growth. What puzzles me is how MSP and TGR both seem to have made retrospectives. I know Baker and Alaska were hella deep so it's hard to understand them not telling that story.

I dunno. I almost prefer a season that starts with a four foot dump just before Halloween, and another in early November, as opposed to a two inch dusting here or there. Give me awesome fall weather, and great surf conditions, and them hammer me with winter. I do not enjoy being with a tease.

Hey guys, popping in to say hi. My brother just became a patroller at Squaw and I'll be making a few trips out there. Hope this winter is a repeat of 10-11 for you. Maybe I'll run into some of you on the mnt or over a beer.
