    Sailing forum?

Has TGR ever thought of creating a sailing forum? There seems to be a bit of a summertime crossover from skiing and snowboarding to sailing. There are a few info based forums but I think a TGR forum on sailing would have a pretty fun twist.
    Thanks,

Seems like it would be a elitist thing, but I know a lot of ski bums that work at sailing centers and yacht clubs in the summers. A bunch of them even transport sailboats, and shit, have you seen Travis Rice's catamaran? shiiiiiiiit

    Wait.....what's elitest about sailing??

I've been sailing since I was about 9 and find it is one of most enjoyable pastimes. I started out on boats shorter than a VW bug...nothing elitest about that. Yes, I've moved up in size a bit...but I think it is a wrong impression that many people have about sailing...that it's an elitest dalliance.

You don't need a 1.8 million dollar 52 foot Hinckley to have fun out there. Start out small....16 foot day sailers can be had right and left on Craig's List for as little as $400....sometimes even including trailer!

I'd love to see a sailing forum on here.

I see it the exact opposite. If we can confine him to one forum that no one visits it is a win for all.

I was hoping he would stop his 2 year reign of terror, finally get bored of hearing himself talk and just leave. But I guess a sailing forum that doesn't update with the new posts button would be a valid alternative.

I think I'll try something new, too. I think I'll take Advres/systemOverBlown/whothehellknowswhoelseandwhocares?'s example and try and douche up as many threads as I possibly can in 24 hours in the mistaken notion that being an annoying e-douchebag is analogous to being 'cool'.

Nahhh.....I won't bother. Advres will skunk me in that regard, as he has such a huge head start.

Is that your idea of a valid comeback? A juvenile reversal? That's akin to "I know you are, but what am I?", and that's pitiful.

No... It's saying I have given more valid advice in one day than you have in 2 years. Beat the fuck off kook.

And Tater... A sailboat forum would obviously take up most of capt. Numb nuts time. Get on Todd and let make this happen!!!

The fact that you seem so uniquely oblivious to is that you've given not one single piece of valid helpful advice in all your renditions here on TGR.

Unless you consider bitching and moaning and acting like a total dork 'helpful advice.'

This is not true at all. I made the transition from Linux to OSX last year and advres/system/Prince whatever totally helped me out with some technical assistance.

They should just combine Kayak and Surf into one Watersports forum? Lot's of really cool water activities, don't fit into either one?

Try as I might I coulddn't really find shit on the London Olympic sailing events.

So I'm hoping the America's Cup coverage will be substantially better.

Those cup cats are CRAZY!!! They make the Hobie 18 I used to sail on as a kid look as if stopped. Gotta a chance later on to sail on the fast Tornado 20, though...quite a different cat from the recreational Hobie 18 !!!

Always thought this would be a nice addition somewhere around here. Yes, I'm familiar with Sailing Anarchy.

Badass. Fun seeing yachting on tv the past summer in anticipation of the vastly changed Cup in 2013. Can't wait.

Not trying to be a dick, but NBC had nonstop coverage on line every day for days on end of sailing coverage during the Olympics. Pretty easy to find. Hell, I even pointed it out in the Summer Olympics thread.

The 49ers were fun to watch, those things fly.
I still call it The Jake.
