how many of you wear golf shoes with soft spikes? i bought a pair of nike waterproof ones " on sale" har har a couple of years ago and they are super comfortable and i love them.
unfortunately, my better half talked me out of bringing on this trip and then i lucked into this membership and have been playing in running shoes. it's not horrible, but i miss the security of the extra grip. i've had two surgeries on my left knee (and i'm a righty) so the occasional slippage when i swing makes me a little nervous.
According to the Darrell Survey 99 percent of woods played on the PGA Tour are composite graphite, while only 12 percent of graphite is played in irons.
Graphite shafts in irons, the final frontier?
http://www.golfwrx.com/30740/graphite-shafts-in-irons-the-final-frontier/
the flex pics between steel and the more advanced graphite is pretty amazing. the vid i took of myself with my shitty clubs was significantly worse than the the steel.
Always get a chuckle when someone says "I used to be good" or "I just slap the ball around" or whatever when they say their index is still >10. I would take a crowbar to all of your knees if I could break 80 consistently with a few broken 70s a season. I know we all want to improve but if you're >10, you're pretty damn good IMHO. What do you guys think?
Played with a guy a few weeks back that shot like a 76 then bitched about ball contact or some shit over a beer in the CH. Contact my balls with your mouth, dude. You just shot a fuckin' 76.
I'm inconsistent as shit so I'd love just to be able to shoot in the low 80s consistently. I'd consider myself good at that point becuase you can go out and kill the average golfer during any said round. I know it's not a competition amongst friends but I still like beating people.

Ben Hogan once had a dream that he made 1 for the first 17 holes and lipped out for 1 on 18 .
He woke up pissed .
I have never played a round of golf that I didn't feel like I could have shot a better number .
One of my golfing buddies chewed me out after I shot 69 because I was bitchin' how I should have shot 66 .
It's all relative , one man 55* no fall chute is another mans 25* blue groomer .
You actually just put it in perspective for me, SB. I always go back to doubles and three putts and say "if only..."
You're totally right, everyone can speculate about that putt missed or that chip ran too far by.

He's just mad we play more golf than him even though he's on vacation.![]()

Spook, I generally like you but if you can't tell I was joking by the smiley, you might need another nap, brotha. Plus, our shoes and hats don't match, dickhead.
I never take shit personally on teh webz, especially with you fuckers. Whenever I joke around with my friends, they never take it personally. I kind of liken it to that; no one around here is not going to call out somebody's bullshit.
That's how it should be.

yeah, i get it mf. i wasn't concerned about your response, but i'm going against my own policy and put skiballs on ignore. my list is a long -- 3 people in 5+ years and the other two are polyass spammers. if he's going to be a dick in a predominantly positive thread about a game for no reason then maybe knowing i can't see it he'll get bored. unless of course people are enjoying the banter, in which case i'll do my best to encourage more. in my opinion. it's unfortunate for everybody else. i hear the same crap all the time in other threads and have never minded it a bit. but everybody here seems to be interested in the same thing and has been constructive.
i enjoy the game of golf and whatever anybody wants to say about my posts elsewhere, they are usually issue related and not flippant, petty bullshit.
obviously, i was kidding about the twinsies, too, because as you noted, you're not identical, just dickhead twins.
and i'm about to take a nap as it's nap time and my little boy is asleep on my chest. i posted a few pics from yesterday evening a page back.
Irish Open at Portrush, google it for some pics of windy rainy golf...someday I will play that course...

Something about the wrinkle in your forehead tells me there's a fit about to get thrown
And I never hear a single word you say when you tell me not to have my fun
It's the same old shit that I ain't gonna take off anyone.
and I never had a shortage of people tryin' to warn me about the dangers I pose to myself.

^Riverdale Dunes Golf Course in Brighton, CO. Hole 14, I think.
So fun. In fact, it's about time to head back out there.

two days in a row hit the ball really well. 4 bogeys, 2 doubles and a couple of blowup holes because i'm still trying to unlearn my terrible pitching technique and need more work putting. the greens here are super fast compared to what i play in oregon. i don't know if it's the sun or the grass or what.
in any case, made a lot of fairways and greens in regulation for me. still struggling with distances with the altitude and steel shafts, but i feel like i've improved significantly in my time here and have a good base to continue improving from.
Yes...it is definitely the steel shafts you're struggling with...
Wtf? Spook is 75?
Drunk and sunburned, just shot an 88.
i have no idea if you're being serious or sarcastic, but compared to my crappy hyper flexy shafts at home, at basically sea level, steel shafts in significantly better irons at 9000 fasl, the ball goes a lot further. some of the irons are 20 yards longer than the ones i use at home. so i'm still trying to figure that out and i'm hitting the ball a lot easier. finally starting to find a relaxed rhythm. it's pretty exciting.
and no, i'm 45.
Getting out to Hyland South today with the ball and chain. She's hitting the ball well so it shouldn't be the usual slagfest it is with other random ladies I play with.
There's a few picture worthy holes so I'll take a few for some par three stoke.

i love practicing. 3 hours today. 100 balls at the range, another 1.5 hours pitching, chipping, putting. some days it's almost as fun as playing.
