Quality work, BD. Since they aren't officially cart girls, they only count for half.Let me know if they were honorary cart girls and I'll bump up your points.
Getting out to Riverdale Dunes this afternoon. Hopefully the cart girl isn't to uppity.
Point totals for cart girl pics are as follows:
Fritz - 10
MoFo - 10
BigDaddy - 7 1/2
For the purposes of the game, we'll say the golf season lasts until Nov. 1st. Winner will recieve a $100 gift card from RockBottomGolf. If I've missed one of your pictures and you didn't get points, let me know and I'll fix it up.

Good Eye. Asner 3. I stole it from my brothers bag when I noticed he was carrying 2 Ping Asners. Works fine with my putting system. Got so cold for a few rounds last year I put it in a dark room and played the left handed version of the same club for two weeks to get the cobwebs out. It's behaving so far this year.

A few people feel the rain. Most people just get wet.
totally. i haven't kept score yet this season and i haven't played for month, so no point in starting now. plus, i'll be using borrowed clubs, so hopefully i'll learn something from that as well. i'm also well into the little red book so i'll try to put some of that into practice. $30 for 18 holes. i plan to be teeing off as early as possible to avoid the sun which will literally blister me in 15 minutes if i'm exposed. pretty stoked for my first nicklaus course.
Never done a golf TR before so here goes. Played for the first time since last October (6 months - yikes!) on Friday at Rooster Run in Petaluma, CA. Right down the middle of the fairway on the first hole and what do I find? Had to laugh after all the talk in this thread. Fortunately I was only about 115 - 120 yards from the green so no big deal.
After 4 holes I was 1-under and feeling pretty good, but then the rust in my game revealed itself and some of the shots got ugly. Luck was on my side, however...
Carded the ugliest / luckiest 39 of all time on the front thanks to some crazy chips and drives that I pushed so badly they went into the other fairway giving me a clear view of the green. With my swing totally out of whack, I needed something to loosen up at the turn.
Made birdie on 10. Beer can absolutely be a performance enhancer. Babe Ruth knew this.
#11 is a nice hole, neat look with the algae taking over the pond right now.
Then out of nowhere it started pouring. #15...
Then the sun came back. The second shot on #18 (a par 5) can be fun if you hit a good drive, but it's pretty narrow from about 230 out with a creek guarding the green.
Ended up being a much better round than expected for not having played in so long. Sadly, no cart girls were out.

My 2.5 yo son loves to watch golf (we often have the current week's PGA stop on TV when he wakes up from his nap). On Sunday afternoon, the wet and dreary weather had improved a bit and we were looking for something to do. I haven't played in probably 10 years and was never very good, but there is a public course 2 minutes from our place and on a whim we dug my clubs out of the basement to go hit a bucket and putter around on the practice green.
Me: Sam do you want to go watch Dad hit golf balls?
Sam: (Wide eyes) Yeah! Yeah, yeah, YEAH! Let's goooo!
First shot (9 iron) lofted quite nicely and was damn near straight. Went through about 15 more balls before I got another good oneSam loved the practice green: (Places ball on lip of cup and taps) "I got the ball in the hole Dad! Got it in the hole!"
Fun little afternoon distraction. I could even see getting back into playing a bit if I had free time that I didn't want to spend on my bike (i.e. basically none). How's my backswing look?

Looks like Raymond Floyd. Laid off for sure. Is that the apex of your swing or were you on the way up or down? Getting the shaft parallel to the ground and the club head pointed toward the target are good markers.
Here's a pic of my buddy who is a legit scratch golfer. He may even be slightly steep.
Can't wait to get out there with my crotch fruit, assuming she loves it like me.
Straight down range. Looks like my feet were definitely a bit misaligned on that one.
Hard to say, just a random pic snapped by the wife. Judging by the lack of motion blur it's probably on the way up or near apex. I remember the last time I played I was struggling a bit and the friend I was with (first time playing together) took a closer look at my swing and said "Whoa, your backswing is huge dude". I shortened it a bit and things improved. I had that in mind Sunday and may have been overcompensating.
It looks like you're keeping the club face closed. When You get to the top, the toe of the club should be pointing almost down at the ground (and the hosel should be pointing at or parallel to the target), and the top of your left hand/wrist should be pretty flat with the top of your forearm.

well, at least from the club, maybe not from the example...![]()
Something about the wrinkle in your forehead tells me there's a fit about to get thrown
And I never hear a single word you say when you tell me not to have my fun
It's the same old shit that I ain't gonna take off anyone.
and I never had a shortage of people tryin' to warn me about the dangers I pose to myself.

Went up and played Collindale in Fort Collins, one of the local State US Open qualifiers. My buddy is getting ready for another tournament there soon, so we played a practice round.
The greens at Collindale are notorious for being world class true and fast. A little lower elevation really helps the Bent grass roll nice and true. Conditions were great, "private big money" type of great. The set up was tipped out, the scorecard only shows blues, but they have an entire set of black tees, that really stretches it out....a lot in some spots. We played the tips as this kid played Div 1 golf and still plays competitively. Straightened out my drives a little more today, hit some great shots. Each par 3 except one was over 200 yards, one was 234 to a small ass green. All the greens are small, but super fun.
The bar ( CW Potts, or something) has some of the hottest chicks, anywhere. No pics as we were too caught up with 3 at once, while eating massive burgers and beers.

Currently watching a replay of the final round of the '98 US Open at Olympic Club on the Golf channel-
Fuck, that rough is outrageous and the fairways are rolling like asphalt.
Pretty sick to see Payne stroking the 1 iron.
This year is gonna be good.
Got out today for a round at Beau Pre golf course just north of Arcata. It is a pretty resonable rate at $35, but the course was under some repair so conditions weren't as good as normal. I shot a 91, and felt that I played pretty good. I always shoot this course the same it seems. I start out doing pretty well and shot 44 through the front. The back always steals some from me (even though I don't think it is tougher) and I shot a 47.
This is my favorite hole on the course and this phone pic doesn't do it any justice. You can see out to the ocean on a clear day like today.
The kicker is when we finished we were talked into playing in a weekly scramble for $10. It was best ball four man teams. That was freaking fun stuff. Our team shot a -4 for nine which was tied for 3rd....drinks were bought and fun was had.
Our team was carried by an cussin' oldtimer that I wouldn't have expected going in to the event. good times.
whatever I feel like i what to do!
Golf season is in full swing (groan) here in MI. Any SE Michigan Mags want to tee it up? Shoot me a pm... 8 hcap if it matters- I'm more about a good time than worrying about how good your game is or isn't.
It'd be really cool if we could get a 4-some or 2 of Mags on the links.

Riverdale Dunes was fucking amazing, as always, on Monday. Shot a 46-47-93 with 33 putts. This is an improvement over my last few rounds hovering at 97/98 with at least 38 putts. My entire short game has improved over my last few rounds thanks to a simple tip given to me by Guroo in which he told me to keep my weight on my left side through the ball. I guess that's something I wasn't conciously doing even when I was playing well.
Anyways, he are some shots of the course. I was drinking pretty heavily so don't remember exactly which holes are which:
Of course it wouldn't be complete with:

i won't be including cart girls in my tr, but i'm just curious how you guys are approaching them about this.
"hey, do you mind if i take your pic so i can post it in an online forum that is generally hostile to women where a bunch of guys will be evaluating your fuckability?"
not trying to ruin anybody's fun, just curious.
It's no secret women love competing against one another when it comes to "looking cute" so I just give them a brief description of our community (ski/snowboard, bike, golf, etc), tell them it's 98% men, let them know about this thread and that, within it, we're conducting a "Hottest Cart Girl Contest," and tell them there's already a few girls who've participated.
The last couple said yes pretty much before I could get out the end of my spiel. Just give them full disclosure and they're good with it. Haven't had a "no" yet and all of them have been really good sports about it.
I think the key is not being overly douche about it and telling them more than once where they can see the picture if they see fit.
We might be evaluating their fuckability in out heads, but nowhere in this thread has there really been an ounce of disrespect to any of the girls posted so far. Maybe the readhead, but that comes with being a redhead.![]()

Played Wellshire in Denver yesterday. No warm up, and the first 4 holes were my best. Couldn't do shit after that. Pulled, laser draws OB, weak fades on a couple shots, sent a 15 yard chip 15 yards past a hole, just garbage. I think I shot about an 85 with a birdie on the last hole. All I need is one birdie to have some fun though.
On a side note, the battery on my brand new sky caddie sucks my balls. It says 14 hours of use, but I have yet to get it to last for two rounds of golf in a row. Maybe I have, I"ll start really keeping track. But it certainly doesn't get 3 consecutive rounds of use without a charge, I'm sure of that.
MF - nice to hear the chipping thing helped. I'm still down to help you with anything if you want. I'm sure my recent 85 ish round isn't inspiring, but yeah. I actually haven't ever worked with anyone on improving their game, so I'm quite interested in a project. I actually think I'm going to go post an offering on CL right now. I'd love to coach some kids for way less than a "PGA pro" at a proshop. I also would really like to be a high school golf coach if anyone knows of a HS in need of one.
