Have fun out there. Get pics. Triple points for out-of-state cart girls. We really do have a points system for this but we need to come up with a consenus on what the winner will recieve at the end of the season (and when that will be).

Had to train/certify in Elitch's pools and was just in out all day. Unconscious submerged guest rescues in that cold of water are near fucking impossible and by the time you've finished the extraction and all the CPR cycles, you've pretty much dried off then it's time to do it again. I thought it was gonna be fun but the second I reached the surface entering the water on my first rescue, I wasn't having any fun in the least.

I highly recommend setting your dvr to record every new episode. It could help you guys which course to play. If you want a tour of 10 or so local courses, come over and we can watch some of them. I currently have:
Brekenridge, Columbine, Saddleback, Green Valley Ranch, Kennedy, Broadlands, Bear Dance, Riverdale Dunes, and Indian Peaks.

    Channel 725 - Altitude HD

Stumbled on that show a couple weeks ago. I only have Riverdale but I def need to head over with a half-rack and watch those other one. It's not bad.

    - Any advice?
NCGA members get access to some nice discounts. There's one going right now where you can play Brock and Old Greenwood up in Tahoe for $180 total (or something like that). Occasionally they'll roll out offers for Pebble / Spanish Bay, etc. too.

NCGA is especially worthwhile if you can get up to Poppy in Livermore, where they hold their clinics and have the most steeply discounted rates. Presidio membership is only kinda worth it- gets pretty expensive after 6 months and you still have to pay $20 to get the prime weekend times- and you've missed the enrollment date to be included on their 12-man team. I was thisclose to joining but just wasn't sure how much time I'd have to get out with the kid here; will probably do it next year.

I'm hoping to play in an NCGA event or two in the fall but need to get my index up a few strokes; playing the same course repeatedly has resulted in a handicap that is totally not representative of my actual abilities. Me, an 8.3? I'm just not that good. Time to go get my ass kicked or start playing from the tips.

Couldn't agree more- seeing obvious double-digit handicappers hitting from the blue tees makes me laugh, until I get irritated waiting for them all the time. There are only a couple holes on my home course where it makes any kind of difference though.

PGA card test is white tees, flags in the flat middle, and 36 hole cummulative course rating plus 15 for score. An 8.3 could pass that test..on a good day.

Of course, I'm bound to start killing it with this piece of hotness. Happy father's day to me, I guess- first new putter ever, pretty stoked. Feels great, sounds great, and while my score may not improve my bag now looks totally awesome .

It came down to the Metal-X #6 blade and the Ti-Hot for me. I've been using a Ping Doc 17 belly for the last year or so but never fell in love with it and thought I'd try something conventional. Not to mention I'm tired having of the "whoa, that thing looks like a lethal weapon!" conversation every time I pulled the Ping.

I really don't like a chrome finish on putter either. Make it to Oakland Metro for a Twi round and green fee on me.

The funny part is the pass rate for the PAT ( player aptitude test ) is around 25% .

When you play a course setup that way, it really goes to show you how crucial pin placement is for how difficult a course plays. On a course where my best round off the blues was a 74, when playing for the PGA card test I shot a 67 / 71. Rounds under par are pretty rare for me (usually I'm in the 72 - 78 range), and the 67 was my lowest ever compared to par (-5). Doesn't really count, though, with such a goofy setup. I can only imagine what real pros would have shot under those conditions... I'm sure there'd be quite a few sub-60 scores.

    hey!

I can shoot a 90 from ANY set of tees. Front, back, in-between, whatever!

Getting out to Riverdale Dunes on Monday with a couple non-mags. I can't possibly play as horrendous as I did a few weeks ago so I'm really looking forward to it. Getting out at 309 for $29.

We have a spot open, I believe, but you'd have to either call or go on GolfNow and book it with us.

New Scotty Cameron Newports are amazing. The new Notchback is like the old 2.7 and you can get heavy versions.

Amazing, fun 9 holes tonight as a sub in a new league. 3 over, 39. No birds. Par 4. Dogleg right. Hook drive under big oak. Slap a hooded 5 iron into a marsh hazard. Ball is on an odd dry spot. 3/4 wedge through the cabbage to 1 foot-par. Par 4. Dogleg left. Drive through the fairway. Over the top 5 wood sculled but bounces over a bridge. 9 iron to 12 feet-a par. I'd rather be lucky than good.
