Anyone else gonna be up and about at Moonlight this weekend for the FWT? I'm shooting and picking up my media credentials tomorrow. Bunion, any beta on the venue you think a photographer might find useful? Dunno how much they're going to give us at checkin/inspection tomorrow.

I think the FWT coming to Moonlight is awesome. Great way to promote the terrain at Moonlight. I will be a spectator on Saturday in the bowl below The Headwaters. My GF and I plan on taking folding chairs up the Six Shooter if the lifty's allow it. Hopefully it will be sunny and we can work on our surfer tans...

or dumping so we can slay the pow...

I'll say hi if I spot you. I'll be somewhere up in the venue most of the day. Headwaters were skiing great today. Some pictures of the registration/inspection day.

Yeah this is the second year in a row I have missed the headwaters comp for something stupid.

Didn't even get up the tram once this year...

Anybody know if donkey slot or the upper pockets have been opened yet this year?

Well, you have'nt missed all of it yet. This weekend is the FWT, next weekend is the 7th Annual Headwaters Spring Runoff. Same venue, just more local. If I remember right, Jamie Pieere was the MC last year.

Any chance you will be feeling better in a week ? The Headwaters Runoff is always a good time.

Several of them could have used it. Yikes. Great day, great event. 1500 pictures taken...more tomorrow in the Three Forks area.

haha, no that is what I thought the event was actually! What was going on today? Also, the prognosis is crutches, a boot or a brace till mid-May. So probably not next week...

EDIT: I skied a couple runs with Jamie last season... it really sucks I won't be able to ski with him this year. He and his kid were really cool.

Fortunately he stayed on his line and missed that rib.

Pretty impressive showing by the entire field yesterday.

Todays venue and event should really be cool.

^ I was shooting right next to Amy for a good part of both days. Sick shots from her for sure.

It was a great event and the crowd was a good bit bigger today than yesterday. And as far as the Bridger/Lone Peak thing goes...the bridger skiers got just as big cheers and applause as the Lone Peak skiers. I never caught any hostile vibes of any sort. Everyone around Moonlight seemed thrilled to have the Tour and all the competitors in town.

I'm going to post a thread over in Ski/Snowboard when I finish all my shots but I thought I'd share a few more. Still Day 1.

Super flat light made pictures difficult all day yesterday. Today was better and the pictures should, hopefully, be better.

Here are a couple pics taken from the public viewing area with a small digital camera, obviously not quite the professional quality. Amazing skiing in tough conditions!

That wipeout (last pic) looked really scary from the bottom, almost seemed like he was rolling down on the rocks. Glad to see that he got up immediately and kept skiing.
