Sorry guys, as I was reading this thread and my cellphone rang. The call is in per Alta Management, the video was requested to be taken down. It is my choice and out of respect for management, clientele and an excellent ski area that I enjoy skiing, the video is deleted from Youtube.

I know I will suffer swift judgement and criticism over this action, but I feel it is the right thing to do. I stand firm in my decision. Thank you all for realizing the whole point of this matter. We all as sportsmen need to tighten up our conduct and not rage on people. Not saying people here do that, but others do and hopefully they saw this video and it reminded them to keep in check.

Alta did you a major favor If they did indeed "ask" you to take the video down. I'm betting they asked you if taking that vid down was a reasonable tradeoff for keeping your job there. You really think they want a video of two employees acting like asshats on the intertubz? From their perspective, taking it down would be a lot easier than explaining to customers that the asshats in that vid "engaged in unacceptable behavior and have left Alta to pursue other career opportunities".

And yes AggroWade was ultimately the bigger douche in this drama, but you have lots of fuck juice running off you too. From where I sit, you provoked your own smackdown by initiating asshattery you couldn't finish - and don't give us that "I intentionally backed down" bullshit. "If you lay your hands on me one more time Dude..."

My job was not threatened at all whatsoever. I was told it was secure either way as I was not working when the altercation happened and in no way did I go and post it on something like a facebook page to a resort or anything, I put it on TGR and it went viral over on Unofficialbird when they robbed the clip. I was praised for taking the high road and not creating a situation where myself, Jon Wade and PearljamEd were rolling around in fistcuffs for all the public to see. Posting that video whether it painted me as a beater or not was something that I did to get the situation of my chest.

The person who hired me at Alta and is my supervisor is probably the best boss I have ever had. When someone like that, whom you respect a lot, calls you at home and says that the management above her is not happy with negativity continuing to breed over a video that depicts a person in an Alta jacket being a asshole, then you consider things for a moment.

Jonathan Wade is not an employee of ALTA Lift Co. and by him wearing that Alta jacket in the video it looks like he works for us, and you know what? I don't want that asshole associated with my employer. He works for the Peruvian Lodge, which is in no way associated.

It was my choice what to do. Leave the video up, which it still is anyway (as I figured hopefully someone would cache it) or take it down. By taking it down I did my part to help relieve any stress that it causes someone who stuck their neck out to hire me without even meeting me face to face. So I kept my word to my boss, and acted respectful to someone asking me to consider the fact the negative energy breeds more negative energy.

Trust me, no employer would be silly enough to demand an employee remove a video from Youtube or else. Can you imagine the fallout from that? Plus I wouldn't just give up my right to speak my mind or I wouldn't be speaking it here without fear of retaliation.

All in all, I should have not put up with his pushing me around, but I know I made the right decision. That loser isn't worth having to get cuffed and stuffed for or even banned from skiing at Alta. Imagine how much that would suck. He would have won and I would have lost a lot of respect from all the really good friends/coworkers I have there.

So yes, telebobski, I intentionally backed down, but I don't regret it. Tomorrow I can go ski for a while, work for a few hours, have a nice free meal and then go ski some more. If I pushed him over and brawled, then instead tomorrow I would be driving to Solitude, buying a ticket, buying lunch and a beer, not skiing with my friends and revising my resume to explain why I had a gap in my employment history. The first option sounds like more fun, and also allows for money to be saved for more fun in the future.

I've been in the Wildcat line probably a dozen times this year where a nearly identical situation happens and every other time I've heard the lift ops (usually quite forcefully) tell people to get to the back of the line. Wow, we headed off to BC last Thursday for a SWEET ski trip with great friends and missed all of this bullshit. I gave up on reading anything in the ski forum a long time ago as the internet tools took over that side of TGR, now it’s being spread here too. This thread (and the other one about the same topic) have to be an example of the biggest losers on the internet to date. WTF happened to skiing being fun? It’s not all about who got the raddest, who toured the furthest, who wear’s what… it really isn’t. I realize internet forums are now just for that but seriously, what have these two threads in particular proven or provided to any community?

Loser #1 actually uses a Go-Pro to film Loser #2 give him shit for being a Fucktard. Loser #2 really heats up FB with shit that should get his teeth knocked in. Loser #1 keeps fanning the flames, being egged on by internet losers from just about everywhere but where the “act of aggression” took place. Soul-Brother stoners from every canyon north of LCC join in stating “how it is at Alta”, even though they don’t ski there. What a fucking waste.

Guess what? There are assholes EVERYWHERE. Learn to ignore them. Live your life without even noticing them. It works. I’ve been here for 12 seasons now and learned a few years ago that it really is best to just ski past all of them. Don’t talk to them, don’t respond to them, go about your life. For some reason, they all back down if I even look in their general direction. Know why? Because they are all Pussies when “real life” looks back at them straight in the eye.

Lastly, being a considerate person does not make you a bad person, nor a Sheeple. It makes you a considerate person, period. Waiting in line on a busy day is not the end of the world.
