Breck was fun this morning, the more easterly aspects were skiing nice the first few hours, but started getting cooked and sticky by noon. Above treeline was wind fucked, best turns of the day for me were in the mid-mountain trees, and of course the open trails that had untouched lines until about 9:15ish. Fun day to be out.

Definitely not being sarcastic, hadn't seen that site. Good to have a central source for all the info. Thanks again.

It is dumping in Vail right now. It's quiet, too. Can't hear the highway at all. I love when snow makes the world silent.

I thought Lake Chutes and Peak 7 were skiing great. Slightly wind-affected, but certainly not "wind fucked". My Fat-ypus I-Rocks were loving the conditions. That 12% moisture snow was sticking to everything.

It's coming down in Breck again. Could be really good later this afternoon.

Nuking at the Beav this morning as the front came through. Maybe 2"/hr at times. Yesterday...the Beav and Vail skied well but could still feel crust underneath. I doubt that will be the case today or Friday morning. Looking ahead for the next 1-2 weeks, I don't see a great pattern. I could snow, but punctuated by times of warm sun. If you want soft, deep snow, ski today or Friday morning.

So I have the opportunity to ski Wolf Creek this weekend. I know Wolf just got a ton of snow and I have never skied there before but now I'm having second thoughts. Maybe Vail/summit will have the better snow? I would probably decide to go to Wolf but I would leave Denver Friday and ski Saturday whereas with Vail I would leave today and ski tomorrow. Any opinions would be appreciated...

wolf will still be good this weekend, it doesn't get much traffic compared to i70 stuff...plus wolf is supposed to get a lot more snow tonight and Friday. Either decision though you should have good snow because of the back to back storm.

Monarch had super light Blower in the morning on the Leap Day, 2/29/12:

And then only slightly heavier snow at 2:30pm:

= But Joel is right. It is starting to get imperative to get out early and get the snow while it is light. It is coming late this year, so the window for Blower Pow turns is small.
You should have been here yesterday!

a little shocked Vail has a 2 day total of 9...I have 8 at the house. Sunny and cold this morning. Beware of Eagle County this weekend. Talons @ the Beav, Snoball in Avon, fresh snow, all means it's gonna be crowded.
