    ^^ Agreed.

I can't fucking believe that nobody stood up for the kid who was getting beat up for literally no reason. That's not funny, it's just sad.

Wow, is this the new "stoke"? I can't decide which is worse these kids or that shitshow at snowbasin. But from now on all footage posted should include snowboarders in some kind of confrontation.

For sure that kid was takin a few...but shorty must be throwin pillows b/c the tall kid barely seemed phased by multiple square blows to the jaw. I'd be just as embarassed to be the short kid with ZERO power.

Instantly thought of this thread when I heard this one: "Sorry honey there isn't enough snow for skiing right now, but the snowboarding should still be pretty good".

    FTW!!

Yesterday saw a (male) holiday tourist snowshoeing across the ski base area with grey skinny jeans and legit rubber rain boots in the snowshoes! Didn't have the heart to whip out the camera phone, but it gave me a good chuckle.

Heard in the Cantina at Squaw yesterday...where lunch service began late due to a plumbing issue. A stressed out lady walks in and get informed by the bartender that lunch won't start for 20 minutes. The bartender tells her other options in the village, 100 yards across the parking lot. The lady literally screams back "That will not work, we have a tubing appointment at 1 o'clock!"

    Tubing by appointment?

Maybe she meant "lubing appointment" to get the stick out of her ass?

Gaper on the left says HEY WAIT! WE NEED FOUR TO GET ON! and starts to BACK UP.
Chair coming around barely misses him and he ends up standing on my skis. His buddies stop
halfway to the loading line and start backing up too, chair wipes them out.

There are two lifties, one is like 'fuck!' and hits the stop and the other scrambles to
hold the chair back. Eventually they get all their shit sorted out and skis back on,
    ready to try again.

Gaper who initiated this mess turns to me and says 'HEY YOU WANNA RIDE WITH US? WE NEED FOUR RIGHT?!'

I say "It's okay, you can go up with three."

I leave an empty chair and then get on by myself.

Word. My wife and I had a guy from the singles line today want to take seat #3 with us. Jeans tucked into his boots, no helmet/goggles, coat wide open, no poles and rental skis. "Hell, buddy, let's give the singles line a break" and I waved two more behind him in to share with him. A couple people behind me gave me a quick dirty look, but recanted when buddy yard-sale'd all three of them getting onto the chair.

At the very end "you guys stop"....what? I don't expect other people to jump them, but at least get into the middle of it and get that little shit off the guy who wanted nothing to do with it.

no good quotes lately, but I have seen more Texas Briefcases in the last 3 weeks than I have seen in a long time. Walking from the lot to the lift, lot to the gondy, gondy to base area, around the lodge, around town... its ridiculous.

Yesterday was full-on ice coast skiing at Alpine Meadows. The first time in my 12 years of skiing in California where I'd say we had actual ice to ski. It was loud and nasty everywhere after rain the day before.

I go to get in line and here's this guy. Rockered snowlerblades with snowboard boots strapped into special bindings.

That's how I feel. I haven't skied since Wolfcreek's big dump at the beginning of Dec but I've taken the snowboard out for some groomer carving and park riding at Breck the last 2 weeks.

Holy shit, how does Snowbowl have more snow than north Lake Tahoe?

Maybe that dude was just getting his gaper steeze on for the shitty wrod.

I still don't understand how people can't figure out how to carry skis and walk in ski boots. Just fucking look around you.
    No longer stuck.

At least the snowboarder in the background was considerate enough to cover his mouth as he laughed his ass off. Doesn't he know he's not supposed to be all polite as a young snowboard punk?

I actually saw blue ice at the top of KW. And I grew up skiing NY, so I know my shit.

Don't read this thread too much, so this may have been posted before.

Man with child standing in the landing zone of a small jump. Group of skiers come by and each hit the jumping landing a few feet from man and child. Man says, "well, this obviously is not a safe spot to wait," while giving the evil eye to the troupe of skiers heading down slope, and continuing to stand in the same spot for several more minutes.

The second. Snowboarder ripping turns down through the scraped snow on the side of a man made groomer. Hits a slick spot, loses control and launches off groomer and into the nearby ditch, falling ten feet down scrub brush and loose stone. As he is scampering back up, "They should make snow for down there. It hurts when you hit this stuff."

Guy gets in the gondola with us, starts talking about how it took him a half hour to find his skis.

We started talking about Gaper day. He asked "what's that, what day?" and was persistent about it.

    The asked
"So do you guys just ski to do tricks or....?"
my buddy said well on a day like today, what else are you gonna do? just cruise groomers all day?
He didn't say much after that.

My girlfriend just got back from the Breck City Market with this gem: A large group of 2 families was standing in front of the dish soap chatting and she had to say multiple "excuse me's" and elbow through to get some soap. One of the mothers seemed annoyed at being interrupted and said, "You'd think in a grocery store there'd be some place to stand around and talk."
    Why?????
