100% crop means what you are seeing is the actual pixels that are on your screen represent the actual pixels in the jpeg. Does that make sense?

I posted the wrong size above. This is more accurate.

Outabounds - I can see the person swinging the string in this shot. Most of the other orb/spark shots you've done you can't see the person in the middle. Do you remove the person in post most of the time or what? Question I've been meaning to ask for awhile - how do you keep from getting the person swinging the light or sparky stuff from appearing in the image?
I never remove anything from them (too lazy). I think what you're seeing is that the burning wool lights me up more in some types of spins than others. In this one, the fire is pretty much in my face and lights me up. In the big overhead spins there's not as much light on me and the burning wool dominates more.

Huh. I need to go back through the pages here and find that one you did with the burning wool on the river bank, it's a good example of what makes me scratch my head about these pics. There's enough light to expose all of the surroundings (bank, water, mountains/trees in background, etc.) and the sparks, but we can't see you. Same with those orb shots you were doing. How is it possible that the ground you're standing on, and objects close to you show up, but you don't?

I think you're talking about this one:

I tend to stand more still when I do these, this is my friend Gary spinning one. I think the combination of the fact that he's not standing as still, and the full moonlight as opposed to the darkness of the train tunnel in the recent shot cause him to blend in with his surroundings.

^^Yup, that's the one. Okay, if the "swinger" is moving around, I guess that makes sense why they wouldn't show up clearly.

HotDiggity: I really like that one. If anything, I think that the bird is a little too close to the edge of the frame. It leads you out of the frame and kills the balance of an otherwise awesome picture. I branches work fantastically with the crow.

Thanks. I agree with your critique, but he didn't really cooperate! He jumped before I was set so I was happy I got anything.

Nice shots, HotDiggity. Splitter - how much longer? Here's my wife a few weeks ago at 22 weeks with out twin girls.

She's MUCH bigger now! Still haven't gotten around to going through all my pictures the last few weeks though. I thought I would, however, post two from out trip this weekend.

6AM this morning in the Adršpach Rocks in NE Czech Republic. Absolutely beautiful area. We will definitely be returning (with babes in tow) next Fall and spending much more time exploring. Many of the paths, although rough and tumble, will accommodate a double stroller.
