That's not what I said, obviously.
Once you're an experienced skier, you develop your own style. Something like what ski magazines try to break down into a power/finesse scale. Which is fine, but it's not only that. We end up liking skis that excel in different terrain or for different purposes, softer or stiffer skis, skis that are comfortable at different speeds... and there's more to it than just a mathematical equation of "if you are 5'6" and weigh 140, you should ski this ski." Not to mention, we could be comparing two people with curvy or straight builds, more or less muscular, etc. and those numbers aren't telling the whole story.
I didn't say physics don't apply. I said for it to be actual useful information, you'd need to know a lot more than height and weight, and without that info, you may as well be asking for my bra size. Yes, it's generic, it might help you get a very rough idea. But if you're really looking for info on what recommendations might apply to you - it's not enough (and wasn't the point of the thread anyway - the question was just what's in your quiver.)

"Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming, "Wow, what a Ride!"
