Nothing on either LL or KH websites yet, KH says details in Oct. If they're are major changes, hopefully it's on the smokin' good deal side (aka. 4 unrestricted free days like the old Snowmax would be sweet....).

KH pass is paid for. Will be buying a LL card and maybe a Fernie card as well.

Now I just have to fix this sciatica.

An older guy at work was telling me one of his buddies was skiing at Wenkchemna pass recently. Might have been him. Would have been better if it was me.

Same old same old a pass up here at the big friendly Marmot Basin. I should be down in the Bow Valley much more though, my wife is regularly visiting the knee doc and my son moved down to Canmore to live with his mom. I am pretty sure I will make some turns down there now and again.
Move along nothing to see here.

Probably going to buy SSV and LL cards again and try and spend most of my time in the Backcountry.

Entertainment factor under the Stairway Chair at KH is lower this upcoming season. They put in a cat road to pole 10. That traverse was not only a pleasure to watch on the way up, it also weeded out some of the gorbies.

I remember my first time doing that traverse a couple seasons ago (actually my 2nd day skiing out west). Lets just say I was not prepared and I'm sure I provided some entertainment value for those on the lift! Now its just plain fun

Back in feb two of my buddies, on snowboards, were out visiting from Ontario and I took them across that traverse to the 'easy entrance' into feuz. I don't think they were too happy with me

Looking like LL for me. I don't know if I want to support SSV again after the patrol gong show last season. It's too bad since there is some really fun slack country right outside the SSV boundaries, although it might be fun to explore right outside the LL boundaries.

Def LL this year. Undecided about SSV because of the patroller thing. KH too. Saw some fresh snow high in the mountains recently (didn't last long)... Can't wait.

The traverse kept a lot of insecure and unprepared skiers out of Feuz.

Looking to get on with LL or KH either as trail crew or patrol (come on PATROL, knock on wood), so if that pans out I'll be wherever they hire me. If LL or KH don't hire, any suggestions regarding employment up there?

That being said, anyone know of any decent accomodations in Louise or Golden? Looking to head up there beginning of November with the dog (a really well behaved mini Australian Shepherd who is super stoked about a season in the snow) so don't think staff accomodation is a go.

Damnit, that made for a fun pump track on the board, and kept some fresh lines into Feuz.

Oh, they entertainment value will still be there. This is actually the second attempt at making a road. This one is high enough that it'll be wind-scoured as fuck and never hold snow. The fast line will still be low and gorby will still be hitting rock/trees/towers left right and center.

Trust me, not much is going to change with that road.

No staff accommodation at Kicking Horse, everyone rents on the market in town. That being said, if you're looking in late Oct/early Nov it shouldn't be a problem.
