    What's going on in Alaska?

What's the story with Alaska weather conditions? I've heard rumors that it's been a lousy winter.

Any idea what conditions are like in the Chugach right now?

I hope things get better. I'm scheduled for my first ever heli ski trip to AK the first week of April. It's going to suck if I have to ski terrible snow.

the "burlier lines" aren't in the cards for those of us heading to PNH April 2 but those trees on top of the local hill in Cordova were green this morning and they're covered in white tonight. I'm just saying... there's still hope.

Ask PowTron how good Haines was... if he even wants to talk about it. Might be better now, though. I know some snow fell.

They skied Light Meter yesterday in Haines so it's slowly coming along.

I really need to get to Haines. It must be a magical place. Amazing how .2" of moisture made it pretty good while everything else is shit. We actually got more precipitation in the Cordova area and it bonded nicely with the ice and sastrugi. Thankfully that is all behind us now. We have gotten 8" fresh in the last two days at 1000'. This trend is suppossed to continue for the next few days with a bigger low coming middle of next week. These steady warm temps with gradual acumalatoin of snow might be the right remedy. I would expect by April you may be hoping for bluebird to enjoy the conditions. Noticed the pavement was dry in Haines today. Nobody bragging about their Blue Hole this year.

Reporting heavy snow in Gwood today. Might pick up, but usually March is the heavy snow month and it tapers into April (last year being unusually rad).

The snow in the Chugach is bunk this year. Worst snowfall totals for the resort in the past 20 years. Totally bullsh!t.

Oh, and AKgeo reported "heavy" snow in Girdwood... more like 9 inches and nothing else a week before or (so far) after. Bunk. Let's not pretend like 9 inches is a heavy snowfall. This year it is. It is pathetic.
