Funny story from last night...
Everyone was getting ready to leave my place at 1am or so but one of the girls couldn't find her shoes. Then we noticed her friend was also missing.
I had never met the missing girl before tonight and had not been formally introduced. my first impressions was good, though. She knew how to party and was certainly having a good time. I'd invite her back.
According to her friends her going AWOL is not good. Apparently she may have some underlying mental health issues that she chooses to deal with through libation.
Luckily it was snowing last night so we were able to follow her tracks around the neighbourhood and then out to the highway. Fortunately we didn't see her road killed, and were able to pick up her trail on the other side for a little while. Then we just had to follow our ears...
We found her mostly naked belting out christmas carols whilst splashing around in a 2/3rds empty outdoor winterized hotel swimming pool. Her friends managed to coax her out with a promise of hot apple cider and rum. She could barely utter an intelligble sentence or walk in a straight line but she could scale both sides of the 8ft chain link fence with privacy slats that surrounded the pool
We all got back to my place and I went upstairs to get some and dry stuff for her, and they fucking abandoned her at my place all wet and shaking like michael j fox.
NOT IMPRESSED
She appeared drunk enough that I didn't want to leave her alone, and I was a little concerned about her shivering and pallid skin, and none of my (or her) friends would answer their phones. I did briefly entertain the thought of trying to warm her up myself with body heat, but I'm pretty sure my girlfriend wouldn't accept the hypothermia excuse. If she were home I'd have suggested she get naked and warm her up.
in any case she was kinda delirious and wouldnt respond to me when i spoke to her or asked her questions. I ended up taking her to the ER (It was a challenge to get her out of the house and into the car) I guess they're going to keep her there for 24-48 hours. I'm really not happy with my friends and I'm hoping there's a good reason for them taking off. I dont mind taking care of someone, but I really dont like displays of disrespect such as abandoning someone who is in obvious distress.
