    Bring it on

The good news ,as we head into la nina , is that the storms are reaching us this far south instead of the Ca/Or border. This is actually a great sign that the 56 storms in our future will do the same. Im going to start selling everything for my new powder boards.

Anyone have any precip sensors for something up high, maybe on Shasta? Curious to see what this moister amount translates to!

I tossed up a thread over in "Hook Up" a few weeks ago, but figured I'd fish around here.

Any of you Truckee locals have a room for rent for the season (Dec - May).
I'mma be teaching again and giving it a go full-time, so I'm looking for lodging.

Will be skiing AM, SB, Boreal, HW, and NS on my days off.

I'm mellow, have a sick music collection, cook fairly well, and ski pretty alright.

We got pounded with rain in Mountainview today at bridge school, after the rain let up the temps dropped noticeably. Hopefully things came down in Tahoe as well!

Boreal opens on Friday. Looks like a couple feet on Friday-Saturday... might be some good fun this weekend.

I rode a lot at Hood/Mammoth this summer but I can't wait for the powder.

QTF. That place is always a full on shit show.

I should know, I worked there for nine seasons. Never a dull moment.

Caught a glimpse of the upper part of Lassen today driving back to Chico, looking a lot like that Shasta pic.

If it wasn't looking to storm on Friday, I'd be up for a Lassen tour. To bad we are going to get more snow.

I don't mean to jump in hear and have a non-contributing post in this very close knit thread, but I was hoping I could find some help.
I'm looking for some lodging or a short ski lease for part of the season (Dec Jan Feb) around Truckee/ north shore. It looks like I'll be skiing mostly at alpine.

I am a college student taking a year off to work wine harvests and ski. Currently living and working in Napa, looking to ski Tahoe until March when I will head off to New Zealand and work the southern hemisphere harvest and ski all summer.

If anyone could help me out by pointing me in a direction other than craig's list it would be a huge help.

    Charlie,

There will be a bunch of college-age kids working at Alpine this winter. Stop into Alpine's HR office at the beginning of December and ask the people there if they know of any employees looking for housemates. You'll find some fun people to share with who will be heading to Alpine every day. If you have a car to drive them, you'll be their hero. There are usually a bunch of smoking hot south american girls living in various locations. None of them have cars and they love gringos.

The HR office is at the bottom of the access road, next to the Crest Cafe.

Good luck and see you at Alpine.

In any case, if you're ever really in this situation make sure you at least bargain in a couple of fluffers.
