Big skis from small companies at Backcountry Freeskier
it's fucking gorgeous out - go float some water
Flying the Bluehouse colors in Western Canada! Let me know if you want some rad skis!!
"He is god of snow; the one called Ullr. Son of Sif, step son of Thor. He is so fierce a bowman and ski-runner that none may contend! He is quite beautiful to look upon and has all the characteristics of a warrior. It is wise to invoke the name of Ullr in duels!"

Hunter, the snows come in November most years. Snowbowl's Mountain Manager forbids talk of snow falling before Nov. 15th, seriously, it really pisses him off.
You can't talk about snow falling until Nov. 15th??!?
There are worthwhile turns to be had way before that.
Some years there are, sure, and other years not.
I was just talking about how testy the Mt. Mgr. gets about it, it's pretty funny. However, I understand that the preseason mountain work is dramatically more difficult when it snows early, so I don't bait him about it anymore.
i have a gut wrenching feeling that i am going to miss the bowl this year... missoula even more of course
Holy shit, bad news for The Bowl! Pat McKay, the mountain manager, was in a motorcycle accident. I was told he has a broken femur along with other injuries.
Whether you like Pat or not, he's the only one up there who seems to know how to get the lifts going when they break down or otherwise won't run, and he is at the center of all the mountain operations.
^^wow, that sucks. Hope he gets better.
Looks like 10" on Stuart Mt snotel before an error. Who wants to go meadow skipping tomorrow? Is that even possible at snowbowl, right now?
I have avy gear and the knowledge to use it, but could use more practice and on-snow experience. And I have a good dog who needs some exercise.
Its skiable up here, in case you feel like driving this weekend. Big Mtn's base is at 37". I've got two days in so far, and it was good.
hmmm. forgot about the blue cheese issue. I'm not sure I can get over that.
a lack of touring gear is also going to be a hurdle, although I do have a spare touring setup at the moment...
She's getting pretty close, I reckon.
