that's what i liked about being a spectator of the Biathlon. you could stand along the sidelines 5ft from the racers and watch the suffering up close and personal and give support that you'll know they will hear. worth the 25$ ticket.

snowboard cross is stupid, just like snowboarding (less J Jones in AK). the end.

Watching that game live was unreal. depsite the score the fans went apeshit for every goal and hit. I loved every minute of it. The streets were a sea of people following the game.

At the victory ceremony afterwords Ed from BareNakedLadies joked that our games are giving hope to Phoenix's bid for a future winter games.

Sweden versus Germania tonight and then more Canada tomorrow night and then Czechs on Friday night. Probably just gonna leave my creditcard at concessions and run a tab for the rest of the week...

I knew you were old, but I didn't realize you were actually a dinosaur.

That crash was amazing. Didn't Paerson slide across the finish line? Would her time count?

Holy shit, how could a course cost that much? Yeah there's grooming, setup, painters, sliding trolls etc. but wow. Wonder how much they spent on that retarded boardercross course in order to make no money back on the ticket sales that had to be refunded.

Take it with a grain of salt - but I'm 99% sure I heard that figure on today's broadcast (CTV). I'm thinking it was moving terrain in the summer and stuff too...

For the Olympics in Albertville Bernhard Russi basically bombed the shit out of the landscape and created a crazy circus ride (La Face de Bellevarde). I am not surprised that it cost something of that order.

Of course with that and Colnago's win, the house was off the hook and all the Swiss were trying to get in. Up walks Bernard and of course I let him straight in, everyone else waiting a half hour or so, haha. Of course it helped that he walked up with buddy Canuck Rob Dixon.

Damn, that Japanese rider completely STYLED out his 540 McTwist on his first run, bummer he fell on his last hit.

Shaun White is in another world. Shit.

    As for the ladies:

congratulations to Lindsey Vonn on her gold, I swear I thought Julia skied a cleaner run, but I guess LV is that much stronger. Props to both women!

(can we please have a Julia Mancuso appreciation thread now?)
I still call it The Jake.
