With all the rain and more delays at Whistler they may need to get it ready to go.

Bill Demong - #1 winner in my book. The finals of the Nordic Combined were awesome.
Favorite part of the Olympics is rooting for random Americans in events you never see.
Still argue to this day that the 2002 Olympic xc relay showdown between Norway and Italy was one of the best sporting events I've ever seen.

People don't seem to get it.. event venues need to hold a world cup 1 year prior to the olympics, and they need approval from the IOC. Granted, Lake Louise does hold WC Dh/Sg events but all this talk of moving GS/SL/Mogul/Sx events to Whistler or elsewhere would not be possible.

Whistler has not held a WC mogul or SX event within the last year. I know that when the bid got accepted, Whistler WANTED to hold these events but due to democratic society rulings, we had to share the venues and distribution of funds, therefore Cypress got these events, as it was deemed unfair for WB to get all the skiing events and facilities. They are also easier to access for spectators, sort of. (Is bussing people up Cypress from Cap college any easier than getting spectators to Glacier Creek to watch Moguls on Davies Dervish?) It would have been a hell of a lot cheaper in the long run, as we would've had snow and wouldn't have had to pay some ungodly sum an hour 24/H a day for the last month flying and trucking snow in.

I'm pretty sure the French team is training SX at Red Mtn right now, and the Canadian team is at a "top secret" location training as well. It makes sense that tech alpine skiers are training on snow elsewhere too. It just irks me that people keep commenting on venues being moved, etc. The implications for security, infrastructure and actual rules (WC being at venue 1 year prior, etc) make that impossible, so it wont happen.

Regardless, Cypress SX/BX is a super sick course, and VERY fun to watch with a lot of airs, room for passing and opportunities to crash. Stoked to watch friends and old team-mates compete.

Too bad she was so butt ugly. I had high hopes based on the body and Czech women in general.

Today I saw some dudes on the SX course in pink suits, so I guess that could have been them.

I hope they like pow. Skied calf deep in the Red Mountain slack-country today (Grey-Kirkup), and right now it is full on puking.

I thought the last moguls competitor got screwed. Didn't he have fast time of the day? His jumps weren't perfect but isn't that only 25%?

Agreed. Sure, he missed his grab on the last air, but it was hudge and he smoked the course. Maybe not gold, but 6th was way out I thought. The shocked look on his coach's face and his reaction afterwards said they were a bit choked about it too.

Totally stoked on the gold though, and Bilodeau's brother's reaction was my highlight for the games so far.
