Tone, I'll be up there (XXLs and Hammerheads) tomorrow and monday.

Bummer about the truck. I hope Bridger cuts him a check for the destruction!

I'll be up pretty much every day for the next few weeks. All black with old school LP's if it hasn't snowed, or on3p Wrenegades if it has.

Man, it won't be BB that's cutting the check. BigBadPowerCompany strikes again! BB shouldn't have any liability if a power line breaks in mid-span and roasts a vehicle.

I was lucky enough to be at the top of PK, hoping to check out Slushmans, when things shut down. Got one fingers hike in. Sorry to those who missed out today. At least it wasn't a big snow day....

    powerline...

    /2nd hand report
buddy of mine was just arriving- all4 truck tires on fire, powerline layin on it and employees running around w/fire extinguishers

randy called for the insulated hook, when he lifted the line off the truck the arcing sent everyone running, my buddy couldn't see the truck for the size of the sparkage, while randy calmly set the line off in a snowbank

I guess the kid who owned the truck had just moved here and taken a job in the foodservice & just had the truck shipped to town recently, bummer d00d...

lookin socked in up there now- have fun if you go

Oh, so it's NWE again eh? Don't worry, we know that playbook, they'll claim it as an 'Act of God' in an attempt to weasel out of responsibility, and force the poor kid to litigation and he won't get his day in court until years into the future.

Fuck that asshole company. When they're not stealing, they're killing people and destroying their property, and trying to get away with it.

Was pretty fun up there today, another bit of soft snow to fill in the tracks. Got a few good laps on slushmans before I bailed, this is a little video of ben dropping into Mundy's...

Snow was decent today... definitely a little crusty underneath in spots but the north facing stuff in most areas were pretty nice. That particular run was a little chunky up top as is evident in the sound, but a nice amount of snow had piled up at the base of the steeps/top of the apron in that area and it was really good. Hard to tell but the last few turns you can see some spray through the pile up

Thanks for all the optimism fellas, it helps to motivate.

Nothing like some leftovers in the sidecountry to get me stoked. (Especially after listening to "Master of Puppets" on the ride up.) Boot top hero pow delight!

Looks like a quick trip to South America paid off nicely...good thing Mchugh speaks fluent Spanish. Saw the three of you headed past Bitter End boundary from below...was wishing I wasn't on the clock and could follow
Nice pics...how did stability seem? Hazard has been heading down, but facets are spooky.
    Buy the ticket...take the ride.

    Rob,

We thought the stability was good. Per the avy report:

We found stable conditons on protected north facing slopes. Poor shear qualities and high scores on CT tests combined with an ECTX helped us feel good about skiing the slope. This area was 500 ft lower than other areas that were heavily affectd by the wind. Good powder skiing.

Besides that I picked a rib to enter the bowl on and stayed out of the 2 more common starting zones on either side. Then for myself I skied my lines fast and knew my escape routes and tree islands.

So I personally felt good about it, but caution is warranted right now and as more snow increases the load on the weak layer. Each slope should be assessed individually.

Chances of me getting killed trying to ski inbounds considering current conditions: near 100%.

My chances are much better in the sidecountry.

Really love that cover shot, BTW.

    Yesterday's work:

Wilbur G missing the light by a hair:

    Cleaning up the leftovers:

    Kieth:

    Crazies:

Keith trying to shoot with gloves on. And my favorite dead tree lost all it's branches.

Fun to be out taking pictures and skiing pow without the crowds...Two of my favorite days of the year so far. Hope to see some of you out there. Give a shout.

    Happy New Year, BB mags.

The poor bastard employee who had his car burn down a couple of weeks ago broke his fucking ankle and ended his season.

Vibes to you sir, "Unluckiest Man In Bozeman" . I want to you a beer. If you are on here, let me know. I will buy you one of those expensive ass IPAs and bring it to you, or maybe something else.

It was snowing at 3:45 when I left today, hope it keeps coming!
