We may be funny, but when the zombies attack, you will realize you NEED me, and others like me. You don't want to know about us, but deep down you NEED people like me to protect your menial little snivvling way of life.

No offense there Bushy, but I don't see any black rifles that can take a 30 round mag. A shotty is nice, but I would prefer not to let them get within shotty distance. And a beltfed or two would help.

Belt fed, ah yes the sweet memories of the M-60 light machine gun. They would'nt let me take it when I left. missed useing the SAW by a few years. Maybe someday. I got a buddy in the BCA who has access, maybe for a few beers he'll let run a couple down range. Cant hurt to ask. I forgot the ruger p-95 and a couple of shitty sks with 30 rounders, fun to shoot but junk for sure.

OK you've got an AK that counts, and a Mini-14 that you can't hit anything with past 100 yards. The Commander is good. Your black rifle collection is woefully inadequate, and corresponding ammo/mag stash. Zombies are much more subject to multiple shots from a Benelli M1 Super 90 with an extended tube than a double barrel.

Quit dring beer and spending money on airplanes and get your life in order for the zombi attack.

I'm convinced the zombie attack is no longer imminent, thanks in large part to the Obama administration's diplomatic efforts.

However, attack by robots that become self-aware is only a matter of time. Therefore I recommend the .45-70 as the weapon of choice to defeat the robot menace.

I also have a vintage .30-40 Krag carbine.

I'll try to get some up.

Here's one in the meantime, although I may have posted it earlier. I'm still learning with the camera. The 1928 Thompson and a Remington Rand 1911

Recently picked up a couple new guns - but haven't had a chance to fire them yet.

    Mossberg 500 12 Gauge

    Walther PPK 380

Looking forward to hitting the range shortly!

Just read through the whole thread. Besides the bullshit that always comes out when GUNS!!!! are mentioned, there are some nice collections in here. I don't have much, a couple 20 gauges and and .270, but I'm getting ready to start expanding my quiver. My next purchase is going to be a pistol, I'm still up in the air as to what I want though. A friend of mine has an XD-40 that I really like, but I think it would be nice to get something with a reliable 22 conversion available as I'd like to put a lot of rounds through it. I like the .40 but am not dead set on caliber. I don't really see myself carrying it, so I want something bigger than a subcompact. I don't mind spending a little to get something decent. Any suggestions? I know it will eventually come down to what fits the best, but a starting point would be good. And I've got a few ranges nearby so I should be able to try out a good selection before I buy.

Since it looks like it's not gonna snow now anymore, I tried my "Ultra-Biathlon" idea I suggested in the Biathlon thread. My XC skis, Tikka 22-250 in the drag bag (which has shoulder straps). Drag bag pack works ok as long as you're not really pounding like a machine on the skis - if you do really go nuts the bag hits you in the backof the head and you also brush it a lot with your arms. Set up random head-sized baloons at about 80 to 485 yards, then skied across valley to shoot. First shot hits on the 80 yard (standing slinged, offhand, still breathing kinda heavy)) and 485 yards (weird prone - facing downhill with the bipod up really high), 2 shots on the 280 yard (solid prone), 2 shots on the 330 yard (kind of kneeling with bipod on a rock), and then ran out of ammo (4 shots) trying to hit the 200 yard baloon from a solid prone position. Never did figure that one out - scope is zeroed at 200, no wind, only thing I could think of was brush in front of the baloon. Then I meditated on a nice warm rock for half an hour, then watched some deer, then skied back. Fell twice. Good thing the rifle was in the bag. Might try this with the AK (shorter ranges of course) later in the week. In a National Park.

    Yes and it was AWESOME!!!

On a side note, anyone have any experience with 10mm? I am starting to strongly consider one over a 357 sig. So far I have heard no downsides except finding ammo.

That is the only downside I'm aware of. At least 10mm is way easier to find than .357 Sig

I have a friend with a S&W 10mm DA autoloader. I think it is a 1006 model. He has not shot it too much, mostly since the ammo is getting harder to find and is expensive. In reading about the caliber, it is pretty stout for a tilting breach auto. I have heard there is some excessive wear on the gun if it is shot a lot. The 10mm is almost in the same power range as the .41 mag and it has a stout recoil and muzzle flash compared to .45 and 9mm.
