    Bumping for the new season.

Based on the Pieps website and beaconreviews.com, it looks like the current DSP software remains v. 6.2. Can anyone confirm?

    beyond 6.2

Anyone know if they have another update coming relatively soon? I just picked up a used pieps dsp with 3.1 fw so I know I need to update, but no snow yet where I'm at and I'll have to send it off. So if there is an update coming in the next month I may just hold off till my trip to CO/Tahoe late december. Thanks

Alright another vote for don't wait. I'll just get a hold of one of the closer pieps support centers and get it sent off I suppose. Thanks for the input.

where are you located? Bent Gate does it as well, if you are going to be swinging by colorado when you go on your trip. You could send it to us as well if you wanted and we will send it back UPS that same day....

    cheapest place

I found a few places to buy one new for right around 350, otherwise scouring craigslist and ebay, I came across a few ending closer to 300, 265 was the lowest on ebay. But I found mine on craigslist for 200$ !!! Crazy deal, I was stoked, but I was fully prepared to pay the 350 for this beacon, the three antenna's make it worlds away from the freeride and also significantly better than the bca tracker. This new firmware is constantly improving an already superior product. I think the dsp advanced is a waste of money, and for the marginal improvement you see with the ortovox s1, the cost difference is not justified, for me anyway. Well thats my 2cents. GL on your beacon hunt!

Weird. They must have changed something.
My God your smart. Although the 6.2 takes a littlle time to feel out there are sum suttle changes. The marking is solid and less flip flopping. Hy though...!!?>.

Anyone know how you check the frequency of other beacons using the Pieps? I looked through the manual and I couldn't find out how to turn that feature on.

    thanks

yes, what you do, is when you are in search mode, you hold down the enter button, and when it flashes F--- then let go. It will give you an arrow to the left or right with the frequency difference to the nearest 10
