I'll be there sat, but doing the avy class with my wife. so mostly standing around freezing my ass off.

i havent skied the dp pros, but i logged some time on 201 asteroids. seemed like they would have been a really fun ski if they didnt have fritschi freerides on them. I might have to bust out my titans since i didnt hit many rocks last weekend.

I'll be up skiing friday and sunday too.

I'm really hoping my new Flylow Puff comes on friday. That way I might (might) be warmer during the avy class on Saturday. Looks like it is going to be COLD.

I'll be up there on Friday too.

Broke off several wind slabs today, big enough to scare.

The First was in High Traverse, a little up the side step just past phone booth at the first side traverse of that section. You can access phone booth from this chute (hopefully this makes sense). It broke with a test tip stomp about a foot deep and went to and over the cliff. At this point we decided to ski the wind fucked snow as to not get into any trouble. The turns were still worth the hike with some nice little pockets.

The next one was more surprising, we cut over to the south side of Devils Dive which was bony but had some great spots. We (the skiers) made it through with no problems. My dog chills until I call him down, so he is waiting at the top. I gave him the signal to go he took a different line than I, dog loves powder. Half way down the face which is only 50-60 feet he broke off the little chute he was in. It went all the way down the slope and was probably 10 feet wide and about 8 inches deep. This uncovered a good 20 feet of cheese grater. Dog jumped aside and watched it go with a look of wonder. For the record he is under 40 lbs.

Morale of the story keep your wits and if you have your fury buddy with you make sure he isn't putting anybody in danger.

I am sure the Patrol will have the mountain safe this weekend but figured it would be worth posting the heads up.

Thanks, I'm sure stuff will be safe after patrol, but it's good to know about stuff moving in case I decide to slackcountry this weekend. I assume these were mostly wind pockets?

Bridger was good today. No body there, I loved it! An unexpected schlashmans opening at 12:30 was fun. Z chute had AWESOME snow, my legs on the other hand, were not so awesome. Getting to Z was quite the hat trick though. Very, very, very bony. Overall, a very fun day.

Oh and sat next to a hottie on the bridger lift, chatted it up and did not get a number or a run with her.

weak sauce. I expect better than "talking to someone on a lift." or just being amazed that there is a hot girl within 200 miles of bozeman.

    step it up next time

She was like "Ya I think I'm gonna head up the ridge. Where are you going?"

I responded with something along the lines of "ya. cool. ridge. dur. powder. *pause* mumblemumble North Bowl road to powder park mumblemumble. later."

I was disgusted with myself. Reeeaall smooth.

I heard from the patrol today that we were the lucky ones..... small crowd of rippers and skier compaction needed as to not let the snow blow away...... who else got a core shot today???? Damn fine skiing if I do say so my self. First runs off PK were ehhhh, but then I saw the sign.

Those that were not there keep your heads up I could be wrong.

    (Wimper)

Stuck inside w/ bogus classwork and exams.
Sounds like today was the day hombres, clear and warm (relative to the next few days), and with slushmans open!

But... might be nice if NOAA's 8 to 12 inches actually happens.

Just echoing that it indeed was a fine day up there. Damn...those crowds were terrible, eh?

Only got a few runs in but after getting skunked last weekend due to the flu, it sure was nice to be skiing.
