Yes Sir. Spent some quality time with Shun this weekend. He came up to LA and we went to a couple of great shows. Did you see the movie cover he's on? Pretty sweet movie and should be some quality stoke for you before heading over to Hokkaido. I really want to go now and will keep in touch with you since there is a decent chance I can make it over there for a week.

^ hell ya, that would be sweet G.

Single those skis kept me up ALL night long. I think i may have talked myself out of buying those, which may be for the best when it comes to my bank account. Shit, it is such a hard call though....

Anyone ever get over into the Boulder River Valley? Looks like a deep base there.

Oh my god, Overturn. I think someone needs to tell you that you made some really REALLY bad dangerous choices up there. Like every single choice that entire day. Like basically even getting out of the car.

Next time wait for snow, a lot more. You should be like George on Seinfield when he decides everything he's ever done was wrong. Any conclusion you make up there next time, do the EXACT opposite.

We were all misguided freshman, we all learned the hard way when moving out west.....but holy hell man. If you think you need an ice ax preseason at Bridger, you should stay at home until the lifts run and you can ride safer. I am seriously in shock. Glad you didn't hurt yourself...oh wait you did. North Bowl pre-season is something that no one does, btw.

Seriously, hope it feels better soon, and take care of yourself!

    Overturn:
The traverse you took was indeed a terrible idea. I can't remember the name of it, but it's usually closed to the public during the season and is only skied by patrol to do avy control directly above the N. bowl road cut (i.e. if you would have fallen, it would have been 40ish feet rolling cliff to a FLAT road cut) I know that a couple tourists poached it last year (looking for an easy way down... ) during the season and one of them fell and broke her (i think it was a woman) back/neck (lucky to have not died).

Definitely get the "Stepping Up" book for mid season skiing. I know they sell it at PhD skis and most of the other shops in town. As a rule of thumb, if you plan on skiing Bridger early season stick to the fingers/pierre's knob area, or the apron/alpine area. Both of those areas can be easily scoped, you can hike strait up them (to make sure you can get back down them), and the maintenance crew at Bridger usually mows the main groomer runs down and picks off a lot of the bigger rocks so they can open the runs earlier.

Finally if you plan on skiing the ridge terrain at Bridger this year, don't rely on the book or following tracks. Find someone who knows the area and tag along for runs. Although they don't require people to have partners when hiking the ridge anymore, it is still strongly recommended and if you happen to be by yourself or if you want to check out a new place just ask someone else that's gearing up to hike if you can tag along (most will say yes in my experience). Have fun be safe and welcome to Bridger, don't tell your friends.

    Oh, hell yeah!

Went up this afternoon to find surprisingly ample elbow room to take a couple of quality runs. Beautiful day today, gonna try and get out again tomorrow. Hopefully it's still good!

Lots of wind affect on Saddle:

I love this time of day.

The turns were damn good almost all the way down. Very stoked right now.

I can't tell, is the girl in the green pants/black jacket having a good time?
We heard you in our twilight caves, one hundred fathom deep below, for notes of joy can pierce the waves, that drown each sound of war and woe.

yeah dude. Super fun. Kinda hopping between powder pockets surrounded by rock gardens. Heard the ramp is skiing awesome tho. Same with the apron.

There are a lot of bridger mags here now. We should have a get together.
