It is on the Menominee Reservation just north of Shawano. I was out riding earlier in the day but due to lame lake rules, no wake before 10am or after 7pm. Old people love time to pontoon boat around the lake on the best water of the day...

this photo is more about being at the right place at the right time than with the right gear or technique ... from Sunday 10/4:

Just for stoping by to ask if I could take pics, the guy that owned this place handed me and the girl a couple of glasses (mason jars) of freshly pressed apple cider.

This is the worst pain EVER!

Nope...that's all in camera and about as far as I can push an image. Some regions have to be over 5 stops with the filter stack.

Sunrise at Mesa Arch, Canyonlands NP.

below is the Junk show that went with it. I don't think the one guy was too happy that I wasn't shooting the arch and was doing something different. The levels of passive/aggressive behavior there was comical.....

Took this one tonite at the Alpenrose races. Could probably use some cropping and tweaking, but I was diggin' it

Be careful about buying snowboard goggles for skiing. Snowboard goggles come in right eye and left eye (for goofy-footers) dominant models. This can make it hard to see correctly when skiing because you are facing straight down the hill, not sideways.

So took a bunch of night shots the other day.composition wise i like them but the focus was off. Looking for some suggestions on ways to improve on them.

    1.

Wonder if the primary focus would have been better served on the fencing/field

    2.

edges seem a little soft. is that something that just needs a tripod, i don't think it was that long an exposure.

    3.

i like the exposure but it isn't that interesting a composition

    4.

just a weird depth of field, i think the autofocus got confused here
