I haven't listened to it yet. Can't wait. Here 4 miles from SPAC with a shit Internet connection. Sick place though. This guy Jeff throws a great party. Keg food drinks pool ice luge camping. Basiclly killing baby manatees and breaking fragile things. So excited for tonight. Phuck yeah!

I was there. I hadn't caught any other shows from this tour, so I don't have a ton of perspective. I thought the first set was kinda flat. I was psyched to hear The Sloth and Axilla, but I think that setlist looks better on paper than it was to hear it in person. Second set was pretty good and had more energy. A good Harry Hood to close and a nice encore. All in all, not bad. I've only seen about a dozen or so shows over the years going back to '98, and I'd put this one solidly middle of the pack somewhere.

Not up to par with the second day night at the Gorge, which I downloaded recently. Haven't listened to Hartford yet, but from what I understand of that show, this one was probably disappointing if you saw them two nights in a row. Still, I wouldn't say it sucked.

Saturday at Merriweather absolutey sucked. Worst.show.ever. Seriously. See my notation in "Bands you have walked out on." Left 2/3rds the way through the second set.

However, SPAC was a fantastic show. MY faith has been restored.

umm, yeah I'd say last night was pretty good!!! I could've done without the downpour but I won't complain. How bout Harpua?! I could've stayed and listened to them for 3 more days and they sounded like they wished they couldve played for 3 more days!!! Great show indeed!!

Seriously? I've never come close to even thinking of walking out early. A Phish show would have to be pretty bad for me to do that...haven't listened to the sbd's yet though.

All horrible: song selection, playing quality, and sound/acoustics. I was in the middle pavillion about 1/3 the way from the back. I think that was somewhere around my 100th (?) show in 20+ years. Glad it wasn't my first or I never would have gone to my second.

Good Bowie, though I was getting bounced around in the pav, and found it tough to concentrate.

Harpua on the other hand was good stuff. The story Trey was spinning was really trippy until the Perry song, and then it got goofy and fun. Least they finished the Harpua for us, and the ending sounded great.

I haven't relistened to any of the shows yet that we went to this summer, or heard anything from the 2nd leg.

Going from memory I found the Antelope/Bowie/Fluffhead from Darien hotter than 2nd set Spac, and Red Rocks off the charts. The venue, the relaxed vibe, cooler weather, and the overall music of the rocks made it for me. The east coast shows seemed so much different in terms of the crowd, not bad or anything, just different.

Music highlights for me this summer are:

RR 1 Divided Sky, Ocelot, Stash, Mike's Groove, Ghost>Wolfman's, Billy Breathes, Bowie

RR 2 rain and melt in the 1st, and the whole damn 2nd set, been waiting for Crosseyed and Painless for so long, still waiting to rehear it

RR 3 Curtain With, Mound*, Gotta Jibboo run, the hand signals to call each song was entertaining, as was the Tube. My highlight of the 2nd set was Esther, though this show didn't do it for me as much as the others.

RR 4 Roses opener, that they got Caspian out of the way early , Beauty Of A Broken Heart is worth checking out again, and overall the new songs were sounding great.

The 2nd set opener Boogie is a rocking monster, YEM was ripping, Undermind was a treat to hear, and the 2001 is everything I had hoped for. Slave encore was perfect placement to hit the road again.

Overall, I am pumped they are back having so much fun. Those guys had such big grins on their faces, and looked like they were so stoked to be back.
They are sounding tight, inspired, and back on their game. Awesome summer, and looking foward to Halloween.

Now it's time for the epicness of driving back to reality again. Least there are big mtns there, and winter is on the way!

I'm surprised by that. I thought the song selection and playing quality were kinda weak, but i thought the acoustics and sight lines from the lawn were good. Off the top of my head, I thought Chula Vista in '03 and the first night in Vegas in '04 were weaker.

Still, though, not up to par with the soundboards I've heard from the other stops on tour.

or that they could get all the equipment from denver to austin in one day, set it up, and play a show that night. it's probably 20 hours driving time between the two cities, not including takedown and setup time for both shows. ain't happenin'.
