    Tags Enabled

    Tags are enabled now.
    However....
    only the thread author can tag threads when the thread is created.

Used intelligently they allow the logical grouping of related topics, making is easy and fun to research subjetcs of interest. They were used in a most vulgar and insulting way here at TGR in the past, which is why your moderators justly and wisely chose to dispense with the feature altogether. If you are weary of all the foolishness and yearn for some intellectually stimulating discourse, then come join our fun-loving but responsible bunch of snowriding aficionados who know the benefits of what good moderation brings to an on-line community. I think most all of you will find that our seasoned moderators "keep the bar high" by maintaining a sense of order and decorum, while encouraging quality discussion about our favorite pastime. We are even polling our membership on the possibility of instituting "timeouts" for members who cross the line. This will give them time to think about their bad behavior and to make the appropriate adjustments when they are finally allowed back into the community again. Coming from TGR, AZ may take a small amount of getting used to as we do have reasonable standards as far as language and image posting that are strictly enforced. The registration is easy and painless, and the rules will be explained in detail during the process. If you are tired of the juvenile goings-on at TGR, all I can say is: "Come join the fun"!

    imho the only purpose tags serve is that many, not all, but most of them are pretty funny. Like a twitter version of a post, but anonymous. Guess my perception is less what purpose to they serve, and more what harm do they do. Anybody that gets butthurt over a tag needs to toughen up or head back to NS. ..Padded Room only would be a great way to ease back in to them, and if it's then determined that they suck, then pull 'em...

    Well they're funny, and don't hurt anything, but the main reason is they are a great way to organize trip reports.

    Back when we had tags, plenty of people used them to group trs together by participants, season/year, and location ranging from the mountain range, to the specific peak or zone.


    Oh, I'm not sure if you're referring to my comment on that thread, but Jer does indeed heart cock. As him, he'll tell ya.

    I think the author should have the choice to enable/disable tags for everyone or just the author.

    That's a happy medium and people can get their tag fix.

    The authors of the thread decides if they want tags or not.

    That's change we can believe in.
