I was excited getting up LL pass today to find 4-5 inches of new snow. However, there was no freeze, so everything underneath was still really soft and all the new snow was sluffing off anything with any kind of pitch. We were forced to ski a very mellow line. Then, it started to rain, hard, for the rest of the day.

It's been real rainy for Colorado near Vail here. Can't think of the last time there was so much rain in the near recent, present, and predicted for the next week!

    18% of average

Wow, the san juan snow pack is 18% of average. Gunnison was 16%. Hard to believe but it is thin.

Anyone have a long term outlook for the Sawatch? I'm planning on Elbert right before Labor Day weekend and am a bit worried with the recent snow... BUT also know that Colorado wx is colorado wx... if it can happen, it will. Only reason I'm actually concerned is I'm planning on proposing on this trip on the summit and don't have any back up plans at this point... haha.

    Thanks for any info!

If the weather on Elbert isn't good, there's plenty of other fun stuff to climb within a short drive.... you should be OK.

So what's the word on the El Nino pattern for winter? Considering I make my money off of storm damage, El Nino is lining my pockets with all the hail along the front range this summer. Hopefully it continues through winter.

I just finished playing golf at 8:00 in the middle of August, and it was 65 degrees. That's not normal.

Looks like the weather is going to be pretty good if the 10 day holds true.

    Last Page

Is there a way for me to jump to the last page of a thread? I pretty much browse the Glock Talk most recent post page, and I have to click on the thread and then click to the last page. Does my question even make sense?
