yep.
some nice rock humping there.
Skied Wolverine Bowl and east-ish facing slopes were very good. Got a little wet around 11 and we set off some small wet slides that didn't go very far but still disconcerting when you feel your skis collapse into the snowpack.
Exited on west facing chute into Wolverine Cirque where the snow was still hard but somehow carvable. Always fun to get the rollerballs going while dodging ice chunks.
Looks like there is still a lot of skiing left for the season up there! Just have to go high...
Good corn at 11,000ft on north facing aspects at 2:45pm today.
Down low it was this kind of day.

E Greeley was sweet for going fast a bit after 1. Still a ton of snow to be skied.
Lookin to climb some sport/trad in LCC or BCC tomorrow. Drop me a pm if you're interested. 'round 4pm
No Star Tuesday going on at Lisa Falls tomorrow. Good times to be had. Choss, wide cracks, moss, wetness, beer, bbq. TRs here so you can't say you haven't been warned.
Good psuedo corn at 11,800ft on north aspects at 1:30pm, then excellent hero corn down below.
Gnarwhale.

Should be some good water skiing down on lake Mona![]()
always thought that was on Brig's Holy Ground ?!?!?
looked at that place more than i care to count on trips to and from Maple envisioning perfect S's behind a '97 Nautique or Malibu or the same vintage .... if you can fulfill this old man's dream of living in the past, i'll fill your mouth full of quality Margaritas![]()
"... she'll never need a doctor; 'cause I check her out all day"
Is anyone interested in getting out for a tour tomorrow (Thursday). Thinking either Wolverine or Grizzly. PM me.
If you can't make it, but have some suggestions, let me know. I haven't been out in a few weeks.
Got up for some leisurely radgnar in Main today. Whapworth ran into us at the top (fun skiing with you man). We waited for probably an hour and half at the top for things to corn up and decided to descend at about 12:30/1 PM. Still super firm, but carvable. A little too cold today for great corn in the chutes, but fun anyways. Lot's of great corn below.
nice shot TH.
^^^ Is this your group TeleThor? Recognized the BROs and before that the camo truck and thought it might be some mags.
In any event, went up the American Fork Twin Peaks and the best you could hope for was skiing shaved ice, otherwise it was rock hard. Then went solo up Baldy hopping for better conditions and it was still rock hard above 9.5K at 3:00 PM. Still a nice day for corn skiing, just no need to gain elevation.
TH- this is a beautiful freakin' shot.

that's a damn sneaky shot, were you in a sniper tower or something...? i thought that my camo-truck would be a sure way to blend in...
anyhoo fun day in all was had, met and skied with some rippin mags (shout for telethor), and gonna be back out tomorrow if anyone is interested.
early start ... 630ish but hopefully not as damn hard, but the lower elevations were money today even around 1pm.
few point and shoot shots from the day, terrible i know, working on camera situation and trying to care more about that, i really like the aesthetic of the finger covering the lense, trying to do some cool things with that
cheers
Nice corn yesterday West facing 11300' down to around 9000'....quite slushy below that.

sneaky little bitch...![]()
^^^ Nah, I just thought you were going to sack up and ski another lap instead of ski right by… didn’t even get to ask for change.
Edit: Yes (see below), along the ridge heading up baldy, your group was coming down and I was heading up. Always happy to cross paths with fellow tourers out on the mountain but privacy is valuable too so the pic was removed to avoid discombobulation.

ME TO TH
hi,
i am trying to hike lone peak tomorrow friday 15th then exit out bells. i remember your tr from february, should i follow the hiking trail that goes up to the ridge between big and little willow and then cclimb the upper most bra strap apron in big willow then summit?
thanks for any help.
TH response:
Years ago in the Canadian Rockies I had a climbing ranger pinned down and waterboarded for info/beta on a route we were trying to climb. After a few minutes of interrogation, the ranger said "Whoa, I'm not giving you all that, just go climb it".
I'll give you the same advice.
Have fun.

due to TH's inspiring words we sacked up in the dark and went up into nothing. hike hike hike until the bra. cramped up the bra, to the summit of lone, skied the NE FACE. we were too late for epic corn but we skied it anyway. the runnel down the chute is about 4 feet deep, getting out of the couloir was tough because some rocks guarded the sneak exit towards the bottom. turned into a highspeed straightline over the rock band down the apron. could still "ski" a long ways down bells the hike out was maybe 1.5 hours. well thanks th for the inspiration and making my head stop over thinking the situation.
p.s. that face heats up quick. the apron is was almost too hard when we made it there. is this because a steep face is going to recieve more direct sun?? we noticed that skiing pipeline too that pipeline was super soft and the apron was not.
