20 min or so from top of new lift to D. short hike to gain the ridge then pretty mellow hike out from there.
i bet you could find fresh lines north side today, 3 days after the last snow.

Nice Tony! Looks like you guys had a fun day. I really like what the new lift has done for the Bridger chair - although I rarely find myself over there except at the end and beginning of days. Sure seems a lot easier to get a lot more pow runs in now and the crowds seem spread out, which is really what needed to happen imo. Much better payout for a ridge hike these days.
Probably won't help the big days when they can't open slushmans, but so far I am totally stoked on the new lift!
^^^
Bradley's looks pretty nice...haven't yet poked over there this year.
Pnut- nice pics, especially since your buddy is rockin' the LawnChairs...I love that ski!
Tone- is that pinch down to the road shot of Kniels or maybe in the Dick's area?....nice.
Got a decent shot (pulled out a video clip) out at the top of the ridge above Mundy's of Travis A...great steep turns all over Schlasman's!
Buy the ticket...take the ride.
Sick shot Willie! That looks like the run me and Tone have been calling Mini Alaska. The pitch at the top on Mundy's is perfect. It is fun working on sluff management into the 10 footer. Now we just need them to close the low traverse over there like they did on the other side so Tone can go huge off dead tree rock!
nice lil 4hr span of 2" an hour- sumthin tells me we'll see some pics1 6 600 16 3 9 325 1.7

good call on savin the day fez- either today for storm skiin or later for all the money in the bank so to speak...
ah that was trav w/marcus in the viddy, helmet threw me off, of all our wedding gifts a framed pic of bb at sunrise taken by him has always hung on our wall....
Here's your pic, base! 11"-13" so far...2 inches an hour..yahoo! I'll get the pov cam hooked up to my old melon here one of these days for some old man keepin the skis on the ground footage...maybe some classic scenic sneaks or some such...
Buy the ticket...take the ride.
fack trapped by meetings and work sooooo lame tomorrow...
Stoke:
Yeah, everything closed today. Tomorrow will be sick.
Yes, that's from Kneils.Tone- is that pinch down to the road shot of Kniels
Lovin' it over there! That headwall is nice for some steep turns. That picture captures it well. Nice..great steep turns all over Schlasman's!
Cleared that one up for ya.Now we just need them to close the low traverse over there like they did on the other side so Pnut can guinea pig the dead tree rock![

you mean more sanders?
rightuphere crawl up over the fin in the top left of this pic for a freshie start zone-speakin of classic sneaks...
close up of kneils area- thru pinch left up n over 3 pine tree groups- or be a man and take it from the top like jasper b- apron prob isn't seein the shralpage to necessitate 10min grovels for 6 fresh turns anymore anyway

Base Weldr, thats the kind of shit I love! Poking around to get on top of a sweet six turn spine line while the crowds careen down the slid and porked out chutes! Thanks for the tip!or be a man and take it from the top like jasper b- apron prob isn't seein the shralpage to necessitate 10min grovels for 6 fresh turns anymore anyway
If you can draw in the line your talking about on your pic I'll give it a shot.
and props to Jasper, that area looks sick to take from the top.

Some smooooove turns up there this morning. The snow seemed to ski not nearly as dense as I had expected (at least for me and my propensity to go over the handlebars). I just had enough time for a few Bridger laps and then a few hikes in the fingers before heading back to work.
It definitely was a warm morning, though...thermometer in the car read 42F at the base and from the sounds of things, it is only supposed to rise.
what opened? i decided to roll the dice and wait for tomorrow and hopefully a slushmans opening.
i saw the temps and am thinking i may have fucked up. oh well...

Everything opened except Slushmans. I can't confirm, but it looked to me like they opened the ridge right at 9, too.
Fez - keep your fingers crossed. If the "wetter" precip holds off, I'll bet slushmans will be money for you tomorrow.
Slushies and D-Route were closed all day.
Snow skied great until it got too cut up. Then it got pretty jarring, a workout for sure.
Did those hippies in Mizzoula rent a bus to come here and schralp our pow?![]()

Icelantic's demo tour is heading to Bridger Bowl this Saturday, January 10th. We will have our entire line in alpine and tele to test for free. Spread the word to all the locals and we will see you on the mountain.

(sorry for the blown margins)
red= //strictly for powder starved hardpack cycles//
my aforementioned silly traverse for 6turns (maybe just 2freshie), obv better w/bigger base, made it look less than graceful a few times groveling...
green= what I thought was launched back in 96 or somesuch, urban bb legend...?/ after lookin it coulda been downhill lookers left takeoff...
could be Im makin it up too- see what that shit'll do to ya....
blueguy=my line the day of the pic
hope y'alls are gittin slushy's today-
thanks for all the pioneering legwork over there, should be fun to follow peeps next yr that have an idea where they're goin...

Green line isn't skiable, the tree branches are in the way and it's way too far out to go to make the second landing.
The lookers left and right are skiable.
Not a fan of the red line at all.
just fun snoopin around to find the pockets ya know, context edited above- low fluidity pts fo shoI was bored I guess...
didn't someone break their back (non-paralyzing) between the greenline and dick's early season about 5 or 6 yrs ago...?
Around 99-00 I remember a few people launching the cliff in the far looker's right of that picture (runout isn't really visible). Then pointing it down thru the next cliff band and making a big turn to scrub speed (if they were still on their feet). Someone was also airlifted to Billings after taking that air and cartwheeling out of it with a cracked skull (he was ok luckily). In high snow you can sneak in under that top air in your green line and make something happen thru the part beneath that. Pretty cool area anyway....
Those are some nice looking turns you laid down in there basewelder.
Nick Balwin was name of the dude that cracked his skull. Pretty crazy kid did some sick stuff at BB. Does not ski much anymore after the cracked head... livin in the midwest I believe.

Nick definetly used to send some sick shit. I remember one sick air in the nasties from somewhere skiers left where he went huge, among his many others. Three of the craziest guys I remember from back then (Nick included) either don't ski much anymore and moved to the midwest, or found religion and don't ski at all. I wonder why that is....
Pleasure receptors in brain burnt out from adrenaline and dopamine overload. It'll drive a brotha to God or the midwest eventually.
