Why do i love Christina Ricci?

Some of her fans are annoyed though ... Basom probably isn't.

Christina Ricci isn't letting anything come between her and her fur fashions.

The owner of Ricci's biggest fansite has decided to shut down, because the object of his affection wears fur. The site included more than 900 photos and info on anything and everything you ever wanted to know about the 26-year-old starlet, but now it's just one page that announces in big bold letters, "Offline due to fur usage."

"I've had this Christina Ricci fan page for almost eight years (since January 1999), but I recently found out Christina doesn't appear to have a problem wearing fur," reads a note on the site, signed with the name Dodger. "Well, I do. I have a problem with people who wear fur. Conclusion: I have a problem with Christina. And now that problem is solved, because I don't have a Website about her anymore, so I no longer have anything to do with her."

Ricci's rep, Mara Buxbaum, initially dismissed my call for comment, saying she wasn't "going to go there," because she didn't even know of the site. "It must be a slow news day," Buxbaum opined.

But Buxbaum eventually called back. Perhaps someone did some research—Dodger's tops all other fan sites when Ricci's name is plugged into any number of search engines. In other words, his anti-Ricci venom has the potential of reaching a major chunk of Ricci's most rabid fans.

"I spoke to Christina, and she said this gentleman is entitled to his own opinion, and she applauds him for sticking by his beliefs," Buxbaum said.

Also included with Dodger's note is a link to PETA's recently announced worst-dressed list for 2006, which includes Ricci for donning a reindeer fur wrap on a recent cover of W magazine.

Jeesh. Whoulda thought a shaved beaver was so important to the guy.
Maybe its only a Merkin and not a real fur

Christina Ricci and Owen Benjamin have called off their engagement, according to People:

"Owen had a birthday party this past Sunday, and everything seemed fine. Sometime after, they got into a fight and decided to reevaluate things. [Then] the engagement was off," says a source close to the couple.
Another source close to the actress says the pair called off the engagement before last week. "They really are still close," adds the source. "They talk almost every day. It was a very mature decision and they both felt good about it. They're definitely still friends."
