2-for-1 46" Sharp Aquos LCD TV - Do you want one?

Costco is selling a 46" Sharp Aquos LCD TV in a two pack bundle for $1999. I'd like to take advantage of the bundled savings, but I don't want both TVs. If you're interested in buying the second TV, please send me a PM.

Note that in the recent Consumer Reports review of LCD monitors the Sharp (especially Aquos) offerings rated at or very near the bottom of the list in almost every size. In 46/47" LCD monitors the top rated three were the Samsung LN46A550, the Vizio VO47LF and the Toshiba Regza 46XV540U. Costco sell the Vizio V047LF for $1,100 without and discount.

Fuck you altabird. I said "some might think" which I think was pretty darn polite. I clearly tried to help him out.

Some might think you haven't got a fucking thing to say about it. Some who have a problem would have said so by now. OTOH some may have benefited from the very ad. Help yourself and try shutting the fuck up.

OK. Now I understand. Advertising non-ski related businesses is OK. I wasn't aware of that.

Some might think this was a generous offer, but lets deter that to a personal attack.

well I dont know about that survey, but a friend who is a strategy consulting stud who has worked extensively w/ flat screens is a huge sharp aquos fan. If its his pick, its probably pretty awesome. If you're looking for a tv (unfortunately i just bought one), this is a steal. good find, indeed.

re: figurado .... is there a general jong thrashing tag? It would be not only hilarious to read but serve as a good education for newcomers (yeah, I know this comes from a low-poster, but at least I know my place is helping when I can, being quiet when I can't).

I believe the jong thrashing tag is in place. You might notice in my original post that I said YMMV. As for knowing my place I actually was trying to help. My mistake was in mentioning something that goes without saying in most other forums. I publicly apologize to InspectorGadget for speaking my mind.

Although my intent wasn't sinister I realize that I've earned what I get on this one. Carry on with the relentless thrashing...

Which is $300 less than I paid at Costco for the same TV in February. And it was a good deal then. And it has proven to be a fine choice.

FWIW, I bought ONE of these 46" Aquos TVs from costco six months ago for $1399. It was recommended by someone who bought the 60" after looking around a bunch (he's a software engineer, so I tend to trust him on stuff like this). I looked around at a bunch of different sets side by side and couldn't see any material difference between the Aquos I bought and similar Samsungs. The Sonys had a better picture, but not 50% better like the price

The ratings for the aquos were kind of low when I was looking, mostly because some of them came out of the box with a row of bad pixels. I didn't have this problem, but if you do get a defective unit, Costco is pretty good about warranty returns.

Seems a pretty easy concept. I'd suggest this could be your new sig and it would serve you well. Figwanker needs to learn it before he tries such a signature.

I have an Aquos, its 60in, but no matter what size, the new aquos's are really thin and extremely lightweight, better than ive seen on other tvs. the picture in HD is F#$*ing sweet! Great deal if you can make the shipping work or if in the same area...

and to go along, boo you figurado- in a market like it is, give the man credit for reaching out to his community to try to help business!

Figurado needs to know that I.G. isnt one of those guys that traded in their license to sell used cars for a license to sell mortgages. He is a pro who has been advising a lot of people for years about complicated mortgage proceedures on these boards. What he is not is one of these guys who got into the business to make a quick and easy buck no matter what kind of loan they were getting someone into as long as they were making a huge comission on the back end, who cares if they cant actually afford the payment, hes leasing a new BMW woohoo! Unfortunatly I know way to many of those guys and they are really hurting right now.

For the record, I am not leasing a BMW.

I'd also like to thank everyone that came to my defense or otherwise had a kind word.

I believe I have someone local that is interested, but that could certainly change.

As for Figurado and his comments. No harm, no foul.

really wish I had the $$ because the old 13" magnavox w/ no rca plug ins is a bummer to watch porn on, ski or the other kind.
If you think of it maybe post a report of the tv just in case we get a raise this season. good luck-
