Nice 10/22, but I gotta say, WTF is that FOR? When the squirrel armies attack?

Not that a gun has to be for anything.

Fajen. I forget what model, but it's synthetic with adjustable comb and length of pull. I can't stand non-verticle grips on rifles.

Leroy - it's for short range (<150 yds) sniper games. Assasinating balloons and such. And the squirrel armies. They're like the Viet Cong. Varmint Cong. Sometimes you gotta fall back on superior firepower.

Jer, I love you for buying a Kali. Seriously, that bitch makes your ears ring... Favorite gun ever. You fucking rock. You putting optics on it or leaving it with the stock sights? I seent you had the scope on the Danny Dub so I'm kinda guessing you'll put something on that top rail... Can't wait to see the pics!

    Sorry for the shitty quality:

Optics on an AK???? That's like using iron sights on a .338 Lapua.

Way more stable than I thought it would be. Pretty much the same as one of those Tapco side-folders.

It's a WASR M70AB2. I've heard a lot of bad things about them from years ago, but apparently Century rectified all the problems. No canted front sight, no mag wobble, no trigger slap, no jamming/missfires yet. I've got 180 rounds through it so far.

I beg to differ... Charlton Heston, though dead, wins:

Disclaimer: These from an email from a buddy at TACOM... aledged to be Charlton Hestons Private collection.

Disclaimer No. 2: I did not read all umpteen pages of this thread - just searched for Heston - so if this is a repost, my apologies.

    flatNshallow,

That's not Heston's collection, it's Bruce Stern's. Both were NRA board members, so I guess you get half credit.

    http://www.hoax-slayer.com/gun-collection.shtml

Guy seemed to have a soft spot for BARs. And they auctioned about half of the collection off a few years ago, and brought in $12.7 MILLION. For HALF of that collection. Wow.

    Jer,

Nice AK. I got one with an ACE sidefolder on it, much more comfortable to shoot.

I thought M70AB2 was Yugo and a WASR was Romanian???

I had a side folder on mine and hated it, very unstable.

Me to, but I got the extra $50 discount for WASR rifles at the checkout, so I didn't argue. I thought Century just dealt with Romanian AK's? It's got M70AB2 stamped on the reciever, so I'm just saying it's both.

I still might put a regular synthetic stock on it. The underfolder ain't bad, but a real stock would be more rugged. It is very compact, tho.

This suddenly makes my arsenal seem very inadequate.

I'm pro gun, but people that like to talk about them obsessively are really weird. You pull a trigger and they go bang. Some are louder than others, some kick harder than others. Whoop-dee doo!

On the 4th my Dad and I celebrated our 2nd Amendment rights and blew the shit out of some shit. My Dad grew up in so.IL where there is a large gun culture and was on his high school's target rifle team, so he knows a thing or two. My Grandpa (Dad's in-law) just liked collecting weird sweet shit, so we now have a Colt AR-15.

    Yours truly

    Pa

    I think he likes it!

That gun is amazing. So incredibly accurate. Those shots were maybe 35yds, we later set up a few clays at about 150yds and took 5 shots each. Even with no scope, no shot was more than a foot off. I was the only one with a hit, take that old man! Did some skeet shooting too, but as there were only 2 of us, no action shots.

Oh yeah, then that night we burnt the fuck out of some shit. America, Fuck Yeah!!

I think the potato gun proved the stability.

That's almost a perfect 'Nam era AR right there! No brass deflector, no forward assist. You just need to swap out the A1 flash hider for a 3 pronger.

My AR in its current config. I'd like to go with 2 AR's. On Short bbl w/ a can CQB type and another for distance.

Shotgun w/ new side saddle... now I want to swap the stock out for another VLTOR clubfoot like on my AR and go w/ a surefire fore end.

Did some work on the Tikka last week (glass bedding, different ringmounts and paint) so I went out to the super secret place (Mt. Grim in of my ski TRs) to zero the scope at 200yds.

Saw some bear shit on the hike in. I've never posted any shit STOKE before, so I figure what better time than now?:

I would have started a separate Shit STOKE!!! thread, but I don't want people to think I'm some kinda weirdo.

Anyways, I got to the remote meadow (Necroyeti Meadow) and set up on my usual benchrest:

Didn't have an extra pair of socks along, so I used a towel.

Did a one shot zero to get it within the center ring, then about five more rounds to pin point. After that I shot the following group:

Sub 1/4 MOA @ 212yds with about a 20mph crosswind at 3 o'clock. It was blowing even harder higher up, but Necroyeti Meadow is fairly sheltered. That was simple.

On the drive back home, I stopped at a sandpit to pop off a mag through the AK, just to prove that I'm really not all that great:

Off-hand, rapid fire at about 40 or 50 yds. I managed to at least hit the board most of the time.

You have big guns, and you post about them on the internet! You're awesome!

Anyone have any ideas about what he might be compensating for? I just can't figure out what it is.

That's already been played out, like, 15 times on this thread alone.

I controll your stupid ass like a puppetmaster. Come here boy! Who likes the Skippy?? Who likes the Skippy????

PS - the Tikka's a .22-250. The AK is a 7.62x39. I've never even shot a .50 in my life. "Big guns" - do you even know what you're talking about? Of course you don't. Just like everything else you've ever posted.
