Sadly yes. After a full 6 months of begging, borrowing, lying, stealing, cheating and general neglect of responsibility to ski as much as possible during this redonkulous season I'm done. Be safe guys!

    BC setup=sold. Fish on!

I'll sender off with this pic of Captain Hardlines <tips Sierra Nevada>

    Bump for continued April pukage...

I rolled into the bridger lot about 11 realizing I forgot my skins, so ended up bootin up to the ridge. Some very fine turns for late April if I do say so myself

is it pretty stable up there, even with all this new snow? nice shots. Free Money I Don't Deserve Check going to BC gear of some kind (shovel, beacon, probe, may be more), I'll get some of that soon.
booting up to the ridge = teh suk!

Just lots of sluff. Everything's pretty stable except the cornices right along the ridgeline. Today we saw a girl get hit by a cornice falling off the left wall of Hidden about 60' onto her, it was pretty scary. But the snow is good!

Looks like everyone in Colorado is skiing some sick 4000 ft. line down a 14er. I'm jealous. Sure can't complain about today at bridger though. 2 runs down 18 inches of settled untracked hero snow was not a bad way to spend April 26th. A few pics for some midwinter like stoke.Attachment 41276

well, it was not that stable if you tried it out. I found that it was breaking a lot more consistently on Friday.
skied the dogleg Friday in Wolverine cirque and had a 6-10" slab break on my partner and watched him get carried 50 feet until he slid off the edge of the slide path to safety.
Saw some guys down in the basin at the end of the run and they skied hourglass and that slid on them as well.
Both of these instances were on more Southern facing stuff.
Southern aspects were also sliding yesterday(Saturday).
My roommate was setting off slides on the ridge yesterday as well on southern stuff.

And what was up with everyone at Bridger being dipshits? I saw multiple groups skinning up the Apron below Hidden and half of them went and bootpacked up Hidden and another group traversed into the bowl below NW direct, only stopping when directly fall line from the run out and getting on their gear.

People were not really using their brains out there, maybe they think Bridger isnt prone to avys after closing? I just didnt understand.

I guess we didn't get on anything south facing, so I can't say how that was. I figured the less crust and sun, the better. Ski cuts on the virtues didn't fracture, but got quite a bit of sluff going, so I felt good as long as nobody was in the runout below me.

After watching that girl get nailed by the cornice (after everybody up top was talking about them, maybe she didn't hear?) and seeing the tracks directly below NW with a new 40' cornice I can definitely say there was some sketchy stuff going on. I love skiing Bridger post-season, but I'd rather not constatly worry about other people taking me out.

Don't you know that people never die in avys at resorts? BB is always safe in the spring

Yea this last weekend was definately variable. Me and Aenigma didnt see much in terms of nasty instability, other than ridge top cornice falls and sluff but we were also not dumb enough to ski something like hourglass or dog leg... But after diggin a pit on a north facing aspect with no wind loading, the snow appeard stable on that aspect so we had a good time. But my friend went sled skiing out toward fraiser and reported a lot of wind slab breaks and ended up just skiing low angle tree pow.

Well i guess if people want to be dumb... as long as they dont endanger others, go for it, its been a while since we had some "natural selection" to weed out some idiots who know better.

The snow line looked much lower in the south than in the Bridgers, but I hope you're right.
We heard you in our twilight caves, one hundred fathom deep below, for notes of joy can pierce the waves, that drown each sound of war and woe.

If my parents didn't fly in for my graduation, I'd be up there. Whats the big deal? This degree only took 2 years. I've already graduated from highschool and undergrad (although I skipped highschool grad for a track meet).
    Still, I don't think they'd understand.

Went slogging around Bridger today in the rain with my wife on her new AT setup. Needless to say we did not make it up very high as the wife was not finding it real fun.

Anybody hit actual snow falling anywhere instead of a torrential downpour???

Maybe should have just gone kayaking instead.
