    Hey LB. I gave my son the stickers yesterday. His immediate response "greatest sticker EVER!" He immediately went to the garage, peeled some other stickers off his skis, got an alcohol swab (he knows that stickers will stay better if he cleans underneath first), and put his Go Huck Yourself stickers on his Rossi Scratch BC skis. He'll be rockin those in the fall. I saw one go on his school notebook too.

    In any case, if you're ever really in this situation make sure you at least bargain in a couple of fluffers.

    Heh. He's 13 and still pre-puberty. Maybe in a year or two. Or three.

    Day 2: Virginia Lakes

    Barry and tarkman on the way up

    tarkman climbing the stairway, one step at a time

    Taking a few minutes to chillax with the view

    Sinecure's pictures of me in the chute were great, but made it look like it was about 20 degrees. It was steep:

    All paths cross at the Mo-Mart. Stoke level was critical:

    Day 3: Virginia Lakes, again

    tarkman had a project deep in Virginia Lakes. Lots of gentle skinning and bosque:

    A very, very rare shot of tarkman losing his footing. Usually he can skin straight up 40 degree chutes, but somehow he missed a step here:

    Things got steep on the way to the summit. tarkman boots as fast as he skins. Do not sign up for one of his projects unless you are in excellent aerobic shape:

    YES!

    OK, Mr. Smarty Pants, you wanted to go for the absolute top of this line. Now what?

    Dude, that's way more than 40 degrees. That's over 90 degrees and overhanging.

    Attachments don't like rotation information Fixed.

    More pics! tarkman drops into the gnar:

    negotiates the crux:

    and runs it out with style!

    I'm so glad you posted that pic. Because of the my location when I took the pics, I couldn't get them to show the steepness.

    Sweet pair of TR's. I still need to finish posting pics and do one from Saturday. I'm getting there. Damned work keeps getting in the way.

    ~V~ and BigKuba atop Gaylor

    Twins and Asandygal atop Lincoln

    "Yo Dude, you getting bored of those guys yet?"

    ~~~~
    Sonora Pass Stoke! These are all from the drive home on Sunday. It was ... kind of f'ing gorgeous. To say the least.
    I think these are from Sardine Flat ...
    I think this is a shoulder of Mt. Leavitt?
    Ah. It all makes much more sense now.
    Okay these last two deserve some size. What was that one Kerouc book?
    Spats
    Yeah, I'd say ... it was a pretty fucking good weekend. FKNA!
    Some of my shots to add to the collection. Here are Shaggy and TWINS part-way up the Fri Lincoln hike.
    Schralph Macchio hanging out at the bottom of Avi 1,
    and Shaggy on the next slope over after cutting out a tad early.
    MilesB, Bob (I think. Don't remember his board name), and Shaggy at the top of the gondola.
    Big Tim, MilesB, can't remember his name, and atomicboy enjoying some refreshments, with an interesting shot of asandygal who must have been in the process of sitting up or down, but unfortunately it kind of looks like she's about to take a dump, sorry .
    Captain powder, the Dallas duo, Sponsored by duct tape, Katie and Diane, I think, hanging out in front of the Mill.
    What's that off in the distance? Is it a bird, or a plane? No... it's a stream of maggots returning from the Sat Lincoln/avi chute run.
    Whole bunch of mags just "milling" about the beach after another great day
    cdlv, squirrelmurphy, wandering not lost, and infantile egomaniac chilling in the beach chairs, with backside views of LBski, TWINS, and Viva.
    Elle Be engaging in some monkey business at the Clocktower Sat night,
    and a drinking game (flip cup?) with Spats, Ubersheist, and ???,
    while Stroupskier, Shaggy, and a couple of my non-mag friends enjoy a little foosball.
    The next day Dookey67 decides to try an alternative form of transportation.
    Weeee...
    "Not bad, but I think I'll stick with my Lib techs for now"
    Nice Sunday group shot at the top of the gondola with Divegirl, Legoskier, Shaggy, LBski, Powpig, Hutash, Gebster, Bklyn, Viva, Elle Be, and Vets.
    In closing, here's a shot of Schralphoptimus prime, because it's been a while since the helmet made an appearance. Also like the fact that Divegirl looks like she's having a hard time containing her amusement, but also a little like she's praying for mercy.
    Thanks to everyone for making it such a great weekend, especially Elle Be for organizing, and Ubersheist and Shaggy for being my chauffeurs.
    How about some more ski stoke shots? I'm starting to think Spats, Chunder, and I got more vertical while touring than most of those who skied the lifts.
    I think people spent more time sittin' on the beach, then sittin' on a chair lift...Not that there's anything wrong with that.
    For the very simple reason you can drink on the beach.
    I guess I'm not with the mostest then
    the only time I spent on the beach was for a beer break at lunch or after 3pm.... What's the vert @ Mammoth? Like 2200 ft? I'm guessing I got something like 15,000+ vert per day.
    here's a teaser / more later- gotta unpack and scrape all the bugs off my bumper first
    t-tips Tim rockin the Rotefella's and the Fiji water bottle - Nice tele turns BTW!
    edit:and one more just because!
    Hmmm...in my extensive experience I have never found that chairlifts and drinking are mutually exclusive...
    I only got one shot of someone skiing and it wasn't good so I didn't post it, but it's not because we didn't ski. Personally, I was too busy enjoying the sweet spring corn and trying to get in a lot of runs to pull out the camera much on the slopes. Having knee surgery in June and starting a new job in New York in August, so this was my last chance to ski for a long time.
    Not everyone stops to take shots when skiing. Most are too busy skiing. And, for me, I can't be bothered to do all the posing or wait for someone to ski ahead and then get it right. I just ride down when I get to the top of the lift. And then I do it again. And again. And...
    Partying though, that's an easy shot to take. And fun to view, afterwards. That's what memories are made of - the socializing.
