Maybe those winds will fill in ceartain areas with deep snow, put a ridge opening on hold, and in that manner allow me to not miss out on this storm and ski powder one last time(maybe not last).

The snotel says 11, and the wind is seriously cranking up here. The drifts are gonna be huge.

    At least it isn't -20.

I was thinking the same thing, P. Sometimes it seems like LL's AM snow report, which should be a 24 hour report, disregards snow that fell during the previous day. This is not the first time I've noticed this.

In this case snotel (and cotrip and eyewitness accounts) clearly indicates mores snowfall overnight on top of the 6-7 that fell during the day yesterday. Perhaps the wind is screwing things up. Go check it out. I'll be at home, inside, crying.

8 and 9 did not, and we were told, would not open today.
The ridge was invisible. I heard over a troller's radio that they were getting gusts to 100mph at the top of 4 around 11...

9 wasn't open nor was 8. It's kinda nasty up there today vis wise and that was on 1. Every time I got to the top of OTR it was braile skiing for the first few turns. Very nice turns in spots, but frozen slush in other spots. You just couldn't necessarily tell what was coming next.

edit: adren beat me to it...I didn't see you all day! Where were you hiding?

I was over on 4... it wasn't really steep enough for how deep and dense the snow was, but I didn't want to deal with those rock hard bumps underneath on 1!

I decided to adopt the "go really fast then make one turn and get a honking faceshot" technique. It was fun

Snow was... interesting to say the least. Face shot and spine-pounding bumps are an odd combo.

I know it's a REAL longshot, but if anybody finds/found one of these:

    somewhere around here:

there's $50 in it for you. The vis was so bad, I'm not sure which of those 2 runs I was on when I dropped it. I think it's towards the top of the run. I went back 3 times, but since it was a complete white-out, I couldn't make my way back to the right spot.

Gonna take a couple stabs at it tomorrow, but between the wind and snow, it'll be buried a foot under by then.

If anyone finds my poles, spatulas, and public enemies, I would appreciate the return.

Not sure if they fell out of the truck or were stolen.
