Holee shit, I think if I got towed into it I would have about a 1% chance of not dying.

cool heli footage but since when has teahupoo been endangered by envinronmental catastrophes? when did that happen?
The break's last syllable is suspiciously perfect. A different level which takes a different animal no doubt. Can't fathom it. Just as shocking when first seen when Laird on the cover.
The thickness of the bowl "shoulder" when building on the first aerial sequence, no words. And the next sequence with the dude in deep, even if he had zero chance and the drop in frontsider had no effect on early wave breakage, sure as hell could have done without the distraction no matter what level. In that scenario, no interfering on anyone's shit, no matter how urgent you think it's your ticket out of there. That's f'd up, couldn't tell, was he even towed in? Messed up.
garrett mcnamara dropped in too deep, he was being towed in.
Tate, appreciate it. Even though I said no early breakage with the dropin, after looking, not so sure. Looked like some early falls hit first dude and possibly could affect concentration. What the consequences in that scenar? Not questioning your spot, but super interested and curious.
When life or death on the line, second tow-in acceptable? Shocked. Crazy yo.
yeah, as far as i know its all mayhem out there and people drop in on each other all the time.
the second drop in was a local guy, i think Remana.
Who seems to know an awful lot about the wave.
he probably knew for sure that garret was fuck before garret even knew.
Dude, that's nuts. In my mind was chalking it up as miscommuncation on jet crew.
Keep in mind these guys have redic stones and above me, but will never buy that local knew the fate of wave's rightfull owner, especially since he has no clue what going on down below. Never over till it's over, and seen way deeper situations only to pull it off. But thanks Tate.
this is actually in this months issue of surfer.
Garret said that his tow partner, Koby Abberton was too close to the lip on toe in. causing the wave to spray extra and it hit him. He said that it wasn't Raimana's fault, he was screwed from the beginning. after he got hit the first time the tube started to suck back air and ate him.
I mean, Raimana barely got out of there (if at all) so Garret didn't stand much chance anyways.
The premature breakage of that section, aka early spray, is what I was referring to regarding jet/tow in crew and lines up. Good stuff Tate. I could tell there's a hands' off Raimana "policy" over thereYup, owns it.
