how to make it easier? fly into what? can't even think of any airports, i guess you could do pease tradeport?
Just checking out this thread for the first time so your problem might be solved, but, Court if flying into Portland ME worked for you , I could pick you up as I am here at work on Fridays and take you home with me baby.

If I'm kidless, I'm in. I might be in anyway.

Who is skinning up the Sherbie with me?

    Dibs on the Monsters!

If I find some spare cash I might just buy a pair of skins and use my uncle's trekkers too.

Brock - Not sure how familiar you are with Tucks so you may have your own opinions, but I'd argue walking to HoJos is a lot easier than dealing with trekkers.

Trekkers, not so good, but the Monsters with Freerides and associated skins are yours Brock. IMO, skinning, and for that part, just being on the Sherbie instead of with the cattle on the Tucks trail is worth it's weight in gold.

you know, i'm thinking about this..

i love my telemark setup, but my turn is shit. taking it to something like tucks is downright frightening.

yet my 1-ski alpine quiver would basically be a lead brick. (185 atomic m:ex's.) boots aren't exactly lightweight either.

don't own AT skis.. not in the budget at this time either.

H-man will you be bringing the shot-ski or are we making another one on site?

Hit the treadmill before hand, dont blow your load too early and you can hope to do more than 3 runs in the bowl when you get up there.

This is speaking purely from the experience of hauling a heavy rig up to the bowl. A good pack is clutch too.... I'm happen to be selling an Osprey Switch 45 if you are interested.

Steve - work on your tele game - you still have another month plus to work on your skills. M:EXs are bricks. Bring your tele set up. You can always just hike up to the snow fields and lap those with mellow tele turns all day and you have one potentially scary decent down the bowl at the end of the day and can take a mellow(er) decent like right gully or the sluice or something. You'll be fine on the Sherby and snowfields I'd guess. You'll love the tele gear on the ascent, thats for sure. Leave the weighty alpine set up at home.

Steve, Mex is a heavy load IMO. But if not confident with tele, I wouldn't want that either. I bet you know some people who have a quiver? Maybe some one on this site has more than one pair of skis?

I have Sugar Daddy's, original version so pretty heavy, and Stockli Stormrider XL, 194 length however, both with alpine bindings. Boot is a 29.5 they are new so I am not really sure of the sole length.

Three miles isn't all that far to go. Go at your own pace, however slow, but don't stop. Have someone to talk to. It'll go by before you know it.

i know. even the 2000' of gain isn't particularly bothering me. it's two things:

1.) laps in the bowl in my heavy alpine boots with those heavy skis on my back are going to suck
2.) i just want to skin in. is that so wrong??

    (:

Although I am a big fan of making one on site we would have to carry it in. But since we would have to carry in the previously constructed one also, I say we make one. Don't mind me...

I fear if we forget the glue this time, we might really be screwed...

I may be asking for trouble, but I'm bringing my alpine set up w/trekkers and skins. I haven't used them yet though, so...

No worries you will be fine...

I'm in for the skin. Bluebird too. Condition permitting of course.

We'll still be drinking/partying/shot-skiing if the weather sucks.

    Just sayin'.
