not to start a debate or anything, but one player cheating to improve his personal performance is completely different than an entire organization cheating to improve the entire team's performance. that being said, i don't put much stock in any of that shit. everyone, at the very least, bends the rules.

There is no chance that the patriots were the ONLY franchise taping other teams signals. They may be the only team that got caught.
A woman reported to police at 6:30 p.m. that she was being "smart-mouthed."
This part started to get me riled up BECAUSE OF COURSE the ENTIRE organization knew, but they just wanted to keep on WINNING, and Roger was the HORSE, he carried the LOAD, so of COURSE they IGNORED it.
(that's my Steven A. Smith imitation, I hope you liked it, Hell, I hope you LOVED it. 'Cause you SHOULD!)
But this part chilled me out some:
that being said, i don't put much stock in any of that shit. everyone, at the very least, bends the rules.
it will be interesting to see if there is some truth to the Pats taking video of the Ram's superbowl walk through. I think the league would actually have to act fairly aggressively if that were the case. Regardless, I don't think we have heard the last of this by any means.
They're not even the only team that's been caught- other teams have definitely been warned about doing it; the only difference here is that Mangini went public with it instead of letting the NFL handle it in-house. Once it went public the league had to punish the Pats and Belichick harshly.
In his press conference three days ago, Roger Goodell said that the taping of opponents' signals was a widespread practice. If you're a conspiracy theorist or someone looking for a reason to hate the Patriots, you can believe he's just covering up and that the Pats are the only team to have ever engaged in this practice. But you'd also be being a naive idiot; teams are allowed to have someone filming on the sidelines, it's not a stretch to believe that they'd try to use that to steal signals. A quick Google search will reveal plenty of articles written about this practice and the league's attempts to crack down on it before "Spygate" ever took place.

So happy right now.
Eli is the Man. O-Line are Men, Defense are Men.
