Damn, this is a great TR. Thanks for taking one for the group's amusement, Soul_Skier. I'm hoping that things stay cold and I can get the chance to head up there next weekend.

that was day 15 for me, so yeah first week of lift serve, but hardly first week and it was time to try and do some real skiing. in terms of bragging rights, i actually wouldn't have put this TR up for exactly the broken back reason, no need to send others out there, and no reason to piss off patrol (if they happen to be on TGR at all). in terms of getting hurt, huck neck is no big deal (basically minor whip lash right?) and the knee to chin was just a minor bruse, so basically the pain to fun ratio was heavily in favor of fun. it was a huge rush to stomp something that big to flat this early in the season.

I didn't start this post to show off how gnar and stupid we are early season. I had to post it to showcase soul's crash sequence. I continue to be amused watching it frame by frame.

As for getting hurt huckneck or knee to face when hucking the waterfall is the price of doing buisness. Also the kid who broke his back hit a small water bar and landed weird within view of mountain ops. Bad luck more than anything else if you ask me.

Please nobody go out hucking at stowe unless you really know what you are doing. We have scoped the waterfall landing in the off season, and had ben probe it for us that day. It wasn't a jump and pray thing.

I would like to know what the significance of this statement is?

not that I am going to argue with you or anything. I just think it's a weird comment from someone in SLC.

I was on Stowes patrol for the last 5 seasons before I moved to SLC this fall. Some of my best friends are still there and I know they check this site out. Not making any big statements. Just remember that if you get hurt on a closed trail, even within the ski area you get a huge bill for the rescue. And getting busted on the waterfall will probably get your pass taken for the season.
