    Exclamation MPC #5. Abandoned-> 9/14-9/28

    Nice work everyone on “Perspective”, now time for the next one. The theme for this round of Maggot Photo Contest is “Abandoned.” The images should capture the abandoned and forgotten. The direction you take this up to your own creativity; lost and abandoned places off the beaten path, forgotten people of society, history that’s been pushed aside for development are some ideas I had in mind.

    Rules:

    1. Photos must be taken within the time period of the contest.

    2. You may submit 3 photos during the competition.

    3. The contest moderator will choose 5 of the photos to put in a poll for the mags to vote on and decide the winner.

    4. The winner will get a happy feeling in his/her pants. (That is a rule by the way not an option)

    5. Winner will be the contest starter/moderator for the next comp.

    This is a very cool topic.

    Hope I am not ruining anyone’s surprise but some AK mags need to go shoot the huge rusting pieces of mining machinery scattered throughout the state.
    Now watch me become what I can become.

    Looks like I'll have to drive a couple hours north, but I think I might have a spot for this one! I know Pure Vida lives to the north somewhere, but I'll be rolling through the mountains...

    Good shot. Slightly oversaturated IMHO. What's the exposure info and post adjustments (if any)?

    3 from Saturday, out looking at fall aspens. Didn't do to well with the aspen, so at least I captured some abandoned mines and buildings.

    I’m gonna go with these two for now. Taken at the old Bar BC Ranch. It was homesteaded in 1911 and had it’s heyday as a dude ranch in the ‘20s and ‘30s. It was eventually sold to Grand Teton Nation Park under the stipulation that the former owner and his wife could live rest of their lives there. He died in the '50s and she in the late '80s. Since then, the Park has been trying to figure out what to do with it.

    A third from this day may come if nothing else pans out.

    Nice. I figured Gilman would make an appearance. There's some excellent shooting sites within the town as well, just have to be stealth getting in.

    Is that the town right next to Red Cliff,CO?

    If so, go for a walk on the train tracks near Red Cliff- there are all kinds of mangled cars down there. Some are really freaky looking.
