    Bindings for B-Squads Advice

I picked up a pair of B-Squads off SAC earlier this summer and am trying to decide what bindings to buy. I can always just go with a set of last year's bindings that are on sale. But I am curious about the new Rossignol Duke bindings. The price sucks, but they are definitely something new. I don't really do backcountry skiing. I mostly stick to the hike-in spots within the resorts.

Here's where I ask a dumb question. Would being able to tour in a binding be of any use without skins? I typically just hike up, but it would be nice to just free-heel up (or traverse in freeheel mode) and then lock in. It's probably not worth the cost though.

Finally, here's my last dumb question. I read that there is a duke binding without the freeheel technology and that it is supposedly perfect for fat skis because it allows for a wider base. I can't find the bindings on the rossi website so I have no clue.

    Any insight? Sorry for rambling.

2008 bindings - little info available now

The Duke without the touring function is called the Jester.

I think it will be a good freeski binding. No one has 'em yet and Marker USA ( i called last week) says they will only be available with a 90mm brake.

I'm hoping the rep I spoke to is reading from some preliminary propaganda because there is no way this should not be available with a 100, 115, etc brake.

Yeah, tell me more about the Rossignol Dukes, I'm curious.

Failing that, look into the Salomon Quadrax or the Look Nova. Have fun!

Thanks for the update. I don't know why I thought they were Rossi bindings. That would explain why they are not on the website.
