    Pay it forward Gear Swap

So I came up with this idea today at work looking at the free stuff thread and just thought I throw it out there. It's kind of a twist on the free stuff, turn this paper clip into a house, pay it forward idea.

I'm sure we all have stuff we want to get rid of, and people that want our stuff. After all, 1 mans trash is another mans treasure. The idea here is that somebody posts something that they want to give away. When somebody sees something they like/want/need they call dibs. Here's where it's different, the person that calls dibs, then must offer up something they feel they can part with. It can be anything, but it has to be something. Hopefully somebody will call dibs on that item and the process continues. The fun part for the rest of us will be seeing what folks come up with....

I'm too tired/lazy (I'll have to did around the garage) to be the one that starts this off by offering up something, so if someone else wants to get the ball rolling, that would be awesome....

But they’ll put us in jail if we kill all the telemarkers

    Sounds like fun,Ill Start.
How bout a Salomon S737 637 337 Jig.Skinny and outdated but i believe the front toe and rear heel holes match the newer sollys and with a little ingenuity can be modded to a seviceable fat jig.

I’ll give one up too. I’ve got a Timex Helix watch looking for a new home. Altimeter, barometer, chronometer, alarm. Works ok if you calibrate at known points (TH’s). Size: pretty damn large.

Oh, so if I were to call dibs on the watch for instance, I'd have to replace it in this thread with something else up for grabs? Actually sounds like this might work.

I'll get something ready to throw up here in the event that something gets put up that I need.

I'll throw up a set of '06 sally brakes - 75mm I think (the skinny ones off a set of 914's) They are unused and ready for a little bendy-bendy!

Went "free to a good home" I'm even covering shipping for the mag. Had I not given these up already, I would have put the shifters up. But as I had promised them already, I wanted to stay true to my word there. Do you really think I would have come up with an idea like this if I was that kind of Jack@$$?

    Just something to think about....

Yes - the bane of your existence - but are those Enimies in rideable condition? Or do they need some work?

Kinda. Initially, I was going to try to sell them (cheap). But the real goal was to get rid of them. So I figure in that case the worst mistake on my part was not reposting the link in the "free gear thread" when I put them up as "free to a good home".

As for this one, I just wanted to put a twist on the free gear thread....

Lonnie, thanks for the shifters! I will see if I have anything to donate to the collective once the movers arrive. Don't know what I have left. I gave away most of my old extraneous stuff before I moved. Its taken like a month so far and still waiting sleeping on the floor with just a few clothes and paper plates gets old.

Maybe I have some old computer parts kicking arround in a box. Hmm...

Hey if you want to do that, it's cool, but since that wasn't the deal you signed up for, dont feel obligated. In other words, it's all good....

just a thought after reading this and pondering its existance vs. the "free gear thread"...

I think it would work better if there could be only one active item at a time. That is, whatever the 1st item is stays "live" until it is claimed and replaced with another item... Otherwise it is just like the free gear thread!

Example, I would take the janky old sally jig, and replace it with my 75mm brakes, the next guy would take the brakes and put up the K2 Enemies, etc. That way, we could see the trading aspect work out over time.

    -just a thought-

I'm open to any and all ideas. I think this is a good one. My only concern is that if it's an item that nobody wants, and it gets stale. Maybe we have a time limit for folks to put dibs an item, like 7-10 days?

Again, just typing out loud here....

I also have a Salomon jig made for skinny skis, that I'm sure with some work, could be made to fit fatties.

Would like to trade it for alpine SOFT BOOTS, 28.5/29.0.

I know, a long shot, but worth a try.

I have a 12" black dildo that I would be willing to part with. It's only been mounted twice, to my knowledge. Stiff but not too stiff. Interested parties can reply in this thread, but you must be willing to give up something of similar value. For instance, a vintage Tracie Lords blow up doll with the silicone mouth would probably be worth much more than my dong, so that would be inapropriate. However, a scratch and dent pair of DIN 14 Markers would probably be about on par value wise.

    aha! resurrected.

I'm in for the subie oil filter and and wrench - assuming 94 legacy compatible?

if so, I'll put up the aforementioned skinny sally brakes...
