    TR: FIBArk Competition

This past week/weekend I played a lot in the hole at Salida and competed in the junior class at the FIBArk Festival. In the end I took 4th in the Junior Expert/Pro class so I was pretty stoked about that. I posted a couple videos, full writeup, and pics on my blog at anomalykayaking.blogspot.com.

If you just want to see the main video it is at http://broadbandsports.com/node/9266

Sorry for the redirect, I didn't want to have to repost everything. Here are some pics for now:

That is just one segment of the crowd. There is more spectating on the bridge, across river, and upstream.

    Bump for Good Luck!

KTW & his bro are competing again this afternoon.

I just met KTW and what I think was an all maggot family. Welcome to Salida & FIBArk. PNW represent.

Good luck down there. Dang, I could use some Salida sunshine about now.

They are an all mag family. Cloudpeak and Spindrift are some cool parents for sure.

KTW got me in whitewater for the first time.

Good luck guys if your doing any more competitions. It sounds like it must be an absolute hoot down there right now.

missed hooking up with the Mags in town because I was not checking the forum in the insanity leading up to the big weekend here in town.

After 12 years in a row competing in Freestyle I trained hard for the 26mile DR race. I am going to put together a TR but suffice it to say I suffered. I ended up 7th overall and I was stoked to get to Cotopaxi in one piece. If you think you are a good paddler I would highly recommend paddling a wildwater race boat....it has been a humbling spring for me.
