    Circuit City SUX

I just tried to buy a tv and audio hom theatre from these guys, boy do they suck ass!!!!!
Both were supposed to be available on line, yet when I went to check out only one was available. When i went to pay the one that was available would not processes. I called the 800 # and they could not answer any of my questions and were clueless. I ended up buying the tv from Sony and will buy the audio from someone.
Both components where available at their stores in junction and denver, but they could not sell it to me and ship over the phone. GOod job guys, you just lost $4500 in business you fuck heads!!!!

I've had nothing but positive experiences with CC, and usually find I can get a 10-15% off coupon to make their stuff the cheapest- much cheaper than BB. I bought my Sony 50" LCD from them a few years ago- they screwed up with a couple things while I was at the store so they actually gave me the 50" for the price of the 42", which was pretty fucking sweet.

Same here. Little known fact- they work on commission and will generally drop prices when pressured.

I was ordering online, when I was in the store they were great. ONline was a fucking nightmare.
I ended up ordering a sony bravia xbr2 from sony style, no money down no payments for 18 months and it was 300 less than cir city.
WHere do you usually get the coupons from?

The sales guy i talked to in denver said they do not sell on commision, because I wanted to take his name and number but he told me not to bother.

Maybe you're just not his type.

There was an article in the Wall Street Journal about a year ago that said otherwise. It gave detailed advice on getting them to work deals. I've done it on several items...

If you want good on-line customer service I highly recommend Crutchfield. I just bought a car stereo from them and it came with all the wiring harnesses, dashboard inserts, etc. plus idiot proof installation instructions. Their prices were identical to CC, Best Buy etc. once you figure in rebates, plus I would have had to pay extra for the install kit anywhere else.

I can't remember it all exactly, but it had a lot of std. negotiating stuff in there- common place to many people. Also it plainly mentioned that most people don't even think haggling for price is an option. On larger purchases- say a $2500 TV haggling is always an option. I purchased a laptop & complained about price for a few minutes and he knocked off $75.00 without hesitating.

If I'm buying something expensive at any non-chain store, I routinely ask for at least a 3% discount for cash. Lots of people do. So many times I'd be in line and I hear the people in front of me ask for the "cash discount" that I started doing it myself. It works.

I used to always get 10% off coupons in the mail when I lived in Boulder, right down the street from a CC. Now if I want one, I just look google it online. I bought my $2500 TV a few years ago and the next week got a 10% off coupon... I took it in and promptly got my $250 back.
